ZipDad57 Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 Will they still have bus trips to the away games as they did last year? Also which ones will be a two day trip, NCST? We're ready to go! Quote
AK-Zips Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 I agree with captain except for one thing. Everytime i walked by that tailgating lot it seemed empty. Not because people already walked up to the game, but their lot spaces were empty. Maybe if the peole have something invested into it they will use the space and build upon that. Not jut $50 for the season becasue anyone will throw that money out there, but more like $50 per game. I personally think that price is insane. I feel that the price should be at $100 which is equal to $20 per game with some extra giveways and free parking for those folks. That sounds more than fari to me. How many spaces are there? like 15? multiply that by 100 and athletics just created a $1500 budget for giveaways in the tailgate sections. Doesn't that make sense? Either way we are :macc: and what do you guys think about trying to out-do SUK 3 to 1 in ttendance at their place this year? that would be great! Quote

That's the best I can do. I tried to make tailgatefest a success as best I could. So did about 4 other groups. If the University thinks jacking up the price to $250 per spot will create a big party atmosphere...they're nuts. I'll be back in the grass @ $4.00 per car rather than pay $250.00. The parties back there were always pretty rockin anyhow.Note: I expect a premium will need to be paid to tailgate at our new on campus stadium. I get that. I don't get paying $250 to park at the Rubber Bowl. Quote
zipsbandman Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 What's wrong with the grass? In my opinion it makes for a pretty good tailgate atmosphere especially before big games. Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 BTW ZipDad57 - I had the posts related to the tailgating and bus trips deleted. It was apparently old, inaccurate news. Someone from the University told be plans are still evolving. I will try and find out details and inform The 'Nation as soon as I learn more. Quote

ZipDad57 Posted May 13, 2006 Author Report Posted May 13, 2006 Capt. Kangaroo, thanks for finding out the scoop and letting us know what will take place with the bus trips . I can smell the hotdogs and brauts cooking as I write, it's almost tailgate time! :macc: Quote
