So I go from watching that disappointing WBB finish yesterday, to the absolutely unacceptable almost-loss football game, to this non-sense.

It's okay at least Akron has a good soccer team....the sport no one else in country cares about.

KD's teams have been losing to mediocre teams every year. I guess it's my own fault for thinking that maybe we'd actually start the season strong. But like always the only games that will truly matter are at the Q.

We are missing way to many shots. We're not going to win games shooting 48%. We're especially not going to win games if we're shooting 5-19 in three point shots. We've got to make a couple of those. By my recollection, there were 3-4 OPEN 3 shots that we missed. That's just absolutely unacceptable. that's 9 points left on the court, not to mention the layups we should have made.

This program has saturated and reached its peak! We have been gradually bringing in better and better recruits to only end up with the same final result.

We are a consistent contender in the MAC with a 40-50% chance to win the conference every year... but that's about it!

On one side of the coin, consistently competing for your conference title is great! A lot of people would give a leg to be in our shoes.

On the other side, we should stop thinking big and (they) should quit whining about why are fans not backing the zips.

If the coaches and players consider the regular season to be a practice and they only give a damn about games in March, people will start watching in March.

It's something we will have to accept, nothing matters to a KD team accept the Q in March. The early season play gets played down by him, but it ultimately hurts our seeding in the tourny if we are lucky to go again. I guess maybe cupcakes until December? I hate that Can't St. looks much better than us early on. I used to really get upset at a Zips BB loss, not anymore with these OOC road games, it would be a minor miracle to ever win one.

On the other hand, I do marvel at the fact we expect to win every game and not that long ago, we hoped to win (Hipsher, Crawford).

Did anybody catch their color guy's remark after Akron brought in four from the bench? He said that he hated to see Betancourt go to the bench because he was one of MTSU's best players. Pretty bad when a guy who only sees you play once or twice can spot you out as a large liability for the Zips.

Props to Q for a great game, I just think he ran out of gas the last minute, he was flying around everywhere. Some of our usually reliable pieces were MIA today. Another very winnable game goes down as a big L

... We're especially not going to win games if we're shooting 5-19 in three point shots. ...

In the final stats, Nyles and Melo were a combined 1-12 on threes and the rest of the team was 6-11. Zips got a combined 7 points and 0 assists from the point. That's not the only problem this team has. But with just average PG play the Zips win this game.

When it's Evans and CB jacking up the bulk of them without running anything whatsoever, we will continue to shoot about 25% from the arc.

when you go on the road. play against top 50-75 teams. you chances of winning are not good. there is not one team in the mac that could beat

both mtsu, and st. Mary's on the road. with the mac school playing them back to back. once we get back home, and win a few. things we will be fine.

Yes, everything is better when we continue to lose every ooc road game and get a high seed to the ncaa tourney and get blown out. This season will be mediocre unless q goes to point. Melo is not d1 material, bad recruit. Evans, not sure yet.

st,mary's, and mtsu are losses to mediocre teams? LOL.

Double Lol. Though I'm EXTREMELY disappointed in the Zips, we should back up from the cliff. St. Mary's will be a top-25 team (mark my words) will win the Hawaii Classic later. We've got to focus taking care of every game up to that point. Oral Robert, Detroit (who we unfortunately lost to last year), and then focus on being one of the three teams that can go 2-1 in Hawaii. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there are 8 teams...1 will go 3-0, 1 will go 0-3...3 will go 2-1 and the other three will go 1-2. We better make sure we're NOT the one of the teams that goes 0-3 or 1-2. Period.

Q obviously had a brilliant game (except for the turnovers), but Tree had a sub-par (for him) game with only 6 points and 3 (!!!) rebounds. Center position continues to look solid with Pat (5-8) and Big Dog (3-5) a combined 8-13 from the field for 17 points, 7 rebounds and only 1 turnover. I expect the two centers to continue to improve throughout the season and be a strong point for the team by tournament time. The wings all performed pretty well except for Nick fouling out, and also represent a team strength. Tree won't have many low-production games like this, and will mostly be the rock who anchors the team.

Everything keeps pointing back to the point as the main problem. There's no way of knowing whether Nyles or Melo can work their way into at least average PGs unless they're given a chance to play through their mistakes. Unfortunately, that means the Zips are going to continue to struggle against better teams. If Nyles and Melo can't hack it after being given a fair chance, Q at the point is the only chance the Zips have to recover from this mess and be competitive.

That was the point of my Jimmal Ball comment the other day (got lost in translation). PS I answered your other question on page 2 of this thread.

Gotcha, and thanks. I knew the general rule of thumb in college basketball is about 4 points for homecourt advantage. I was just wondering if the betting world had a different system. That article was really interesting about the different levels of advantage on different homecourts. MTSU was ranked right square at 4.0.
