Louisiana-Lafayette wasn't too far off either...played toe-to-toe with Ball State and Northern Illinois as well. If everything would of went our way late in those games, we may be 8-3 right now(At least 6-5).

If my aunt had ____ , she'd be my uncle. If we beat them, we'd still have to beat Toledo, which is no small task. I'm content with this season. We have won the games we were supposed to and the future seems to be bright. I'm alright with us not getting a bowl game. We would be blown out. Simply not a very good team.

This is exactly what Coach Bowden has been predicting: lose big, lose small, win small, win big. Right now I look at the close losses more as forward progress than lost opportunities. But it's really great that this progress has Zips fans thinking more like winners than losers. In the future the close losses will be a lot more painful because we'll have much higher expectations for the team.
