pdt1420 Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 Heart of a champion tonight. We need to take away lessons from this game. We've looked so much better with Diggs bringing the ball up. Diggs just needs to cut down on dribbling into traffic with nowhere to go with the ball. Quote
pdt1420 Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 That's it Stevie... jack one up from the parking lot. Somewhere DJ Cooper just gave you a hi-five. Quote
pdt1420 Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 This one goes out to Ivo Baltic, the softest man alive. Quote
tomzip Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 I turned it off, will check score later ok, I won't lie..watched and listened to 1350 for the second overtime...I will eat some crow and give them a lot of credit for this win. Quote
GP1 Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 That was a great college basketball game. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 And I can breath again. If we were even mediocre at the line, this game never goes to OT. Quote
Dave in Green Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 Back to 62% free throw shooting, and it almost cost the Zips. Quote
gozips19 Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 wow what a game! gutsy performance for the Zips. Q played great. The team shot well. Pat played well. Good D and effort. Just need to cut down those turnovers. Go Zips! Quote
zippy5 Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 That was a great game. If we clean some things up I think we're 10+ points better than OU Quote
phil Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 So much for keeping Evens in because he makes foul shots. This team show a lot of heart tonight. Keith should reward these guys. The starting lineup should include Harney, Diggs, MCadams, Tree and Pat. Diggs should play the point. This is the best they have played all year with clutch shooting. Quote
zippy5 Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 I hope this puts us in the mix now, jupitertoo Quote
Derrt Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 What A GAME. A LOT of players stepped up today. Quote
GoZips88 Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 Only the second MAC game of the year but a huge, gutsy win. Congrats Akron!!! Quote
ksu sucks Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 When was the last time we lost to OU? Quote
Balsy Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 WHAT A GAME! Every time I thought it was over and went to get something, BOOM we're back in it! Since the Bobkittens hired Jim Christian, the Zips been undefeated against them. Thanks for the hire Ohio. Quote
Balsy Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 When was the last time we lost to OU? 2011-2012 MAC Championship game. Quote
GoZips88 Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 Damn! I like finesse and Dambrot says we're not a 'finesseful' team! Quote
Dave in Green Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 So much for the Zips' 3-point shooting slump -- 9-15 for 60%. Zips also dominated the boards, 45-33. I think there may be a future for that big lineup that bent but didn't buckle in OT. Quote
The Hip Zip Posted January 13, 2014 Author Report Posted January 13, 2014 There is no substitute for guts. I'm proud of this effort, now lets build on it. Quote
Valpo Zip Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 Great win. Amazing game from Pat, Reggie, and Q. Harney not so bad either. I will give a leg to know what was said in the last time out of regulation. With the game tied and 20 seconds left, did KD draw a play or did he tell the guys to just go wing it? Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 Great win. Amazing game from Pat, Reggie, and Q. Harney not so bad either. I will give a leg to know what was said in the last time out of regulation. With the game tied and 20 seconds left, did KD draw a play or did he tell the guys to just go wing it? Regardless of the circumstances, you just can't resist taking a shot at KD, can you? They were calling for an isolation (1-4 clear out) for Q, but he and Tree had some mis-communication and Tree came up to set a screen (not planned). Quote
GoZips88 Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 Always interesting to peak in on BobcatAttack. My take-away .... we are a "horrible, horrible team." Go Zips! Quote
skip-zip Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 Plenty of sloppy and dumb plays. The problems remain. And I can't imagine getting through the season without some costly losses with that horrible free throw shooting. But WOW, I saw some of the old Akron guts and determination tonight. Starting conference play with 2 road wins, including 1 at OU is a great start. Lets pray that Keith can work on these guys and clean up some of the other crap before we self-destruct any more, and lose the good jump start that we just gave ourselves to start conference play.
