Balsy
^There were some absolutely unbelievable stats from this game. I will say, Kudos to the Zips fans up in C127. This is the first time I've sat up there and not with the students. I felt a little out of place because I'm 24...but I love the energy and passion of everyone up there!Oh and Alex Abreu made an appearance. There's something to the whole machismo thing within the Latino community. After Ndoor hit his SECOND three, the thought of "this might not be our night" definitely crept into my head. But eventually OU cooled off when the fatigue finally kicked in. I echo the admiration for Kellogg's game - he showed me he is much more of an all-around player than I had previously thought. They'll miss him for sure.I loved Reggie's efficiency last night. I wouldn't mind at all if he would shoot a little more.
skip-zip
McCrea can have his player of the year awards. I'll take Tree and his Tourney MVP any dayNow now. Anyone in the MAC would LOVE to have McCrea. And I'm as Blue and Gold as it gets, but I think the league's yearly POY award carries a little more clout than a title game MVP.I'm just happy that A-hole Hurley is OUT of the tournament. Although, beating him again would have been fun.
GP1
For whatever reason, OU is a team I have a particular dislike for. It really warms my heart every time we beat them.Confidence and momentum. The Zips have it and they will win the MAC.

Although, beating him again would have been fun. My point was that one player brings his best when it matters, one player - not so much. I said a few times McCrea was the best player in the MAC this year. That doesn't mean I'd want him leading my team in March.

ZipsBurgh
Not sure if anyone watched the post game press conference on YouTube, but I loved when Dambrot corrected that reporter for calling Tree a senior. It was something like "Junior. It says senior on the sheet, but he will be back next year."
Dr Z
It was something like "Junior. It says senior on the sheet, but he will be back next year."I would hope that during his time between his junior year and his senior year, he takes free throw shooting to another level. He can, and should WANT, to get to the line often. That would be a great weapon to have each and every game.
Gcc
I really need Tree to STOP BRINGING THE DAMN ball up the court and give it to Q.Sometimes it doesn't work and sometimes it does! GO ZIPS!!!capturedvideo.MOV
Dave in Green
Tree was pretty deadly when he brought the ball up the court and drove to the bucket before OU had a chance to set its defense. Having a power forward who can take it the length of the court, drive to the bucket like a wing and score consistently is an option most teams only dream of having.Q tweeted after a late-season loss that he needed to be turned loose earlier in the game. His wish was granted with less than 2 minutes left in the first half as he scored the Zips' final 5 points of the half and then the first 5 points of the second half. That 10 points over a 2-minute, 40-second span kept the Zips in the game when OU was threatening to pull away. Then there's Reggie. Earlier in the season he was criticized here for only shooting 3s and nothing else. Last night he faked treys, drove inside and once pulled up for an 18-foot jumper and another time shot the first floater I can remember seeing him try. He made both shots. In the 3 games since his return, he's hit 2-2 2-pointers, 5-7 treys and 7-8 free throws.
