skip-zip
Yep, it's time to get energized.I hope everyone has the same enthusiasm for a repeat performance.
ZachTheZip
They've changed the rules, in a very big way. Given certain Zips fans' love for tailgating, this should be a cinch.Vote here: https://capitalonemascots.com/mascots/mascot/zippy
Let'sGoZips94
https://capitalonemascots.com/mascots/mascot/zippyVoting is now open, with our first victim being Wilma T. Wildcat from the other UofA, University of Arizona. This is COMPLETELY different from last time. There is a "VOTE NOW" button which is worth 1 point, and can be clicked 50 times per day. There is a "SHARE" button, which is 50 points and can be done via Facebook or Twitter (include the hashtag #CapitalOneZippy). - It looks like there is a weekly question that goes along with this. This week: If your mascot is manning the tailgate grill this week, what’s he/she grilling? The big 100 point option is "UPLOAD" where you upload a picture, to Facebook/Twitter/Instagram, with you personally doing whatever the question is that week. - This week's question: Upload a photo/video of you grilling while wearing your school’s gear. This is going to take some serious dedication.Go Zips!Edit: ZachTheZip beat me to it. K92
Don't forget to include #CapitalOneZippy in your social media posts or your vote won't count.
Balsy
So let me write this out, just so I understand it (as well as everyone else). Everyday you can vote 50 times. There is a 100pt challenge every WEEK, that you apparently can submit 20 times, and there is a 50pt Social Media 20 times per week.So per week one person (one Facebook account/twitter account etc.) can give:Voting 50 (7) = 350ptsChallenge = 2000ptsSocial Media = 1000ptsTotal = 3350pts (per week per person(Facebook account/twitter).I highly suggest at tailgating for games, ZipsNations members who have twitter/facebook accounts should complete the Weekly challenge and submit. Easy to do, and we'll help Zippy win!Let's get to work ZipsNation!
ZachTheZip
As for submitting the challenge this week (pic of yourself grilling in school gear), we need to find out if it counts if we snap 20 pics as an album, and upload them all at once with the same hashtag caption. Also, for the social media thing, as well as the challenge, does it count for each social media platform (facebook, twitter, instagram)? If so, it's an easy to double your share points and triple your challenge points.
Balsy
Good point Zach. That is an important thing to know. Especially if it comes down to us facing the Buckeye war machine.
ZachTheZip
Another important point is that you don't want to do all your weeklies (social media / challenge) early in the week. Save that stuff for near the end of the week in case we need to make a big push.
Balsy
Zach, are point totals posted?

bUAkronG
Good point Zach. That is an important thing to know. Especially if it comes down to us facing the Buckeye war machine.Brutus isn't even going to get a win in week 1, he's getting crushed 74-26 by Benny Beaver from Oregon State
Balsy
Week #2 Folks. Zippy is 2-0. K92
I like the first comment on the PD article. "Zippy would box Brutus and hit him upside the head.......and then drop Kangaroo scat on him."
K92
Time for everyone to wake up after the long weekend. Zippy is trailing Joe Bruin 75-25.
Balsy
Time for everyone to wake up after the long weekend. Zippy is trailing Joe Bruin 75-25.Voting starts on Monday, so there's a good chance a couple of Bruins fans were up late last night and voted. With the max out of 1pt votes, 1 facebook post and 5 tweets, it moved to 70-30. I think may a handful of Bruins fans pissed in the pool early! Balsy
Auburn fans are really, REALLY taking this thing seriously. Need to keep an eye on them. That, or absolutely no-one is voting for Brutus...The Buckeyes have better things to do, like losing to Virginia Tech. ZachTheZip
That, or absolutely no-one is voting for Brutus...The Buckeyes have better things to do, like losing to Virginia Tech. Maybe. But Auburn is getting the most total votes of any mascot, over the course of the competition. Zippy is 3rd.
