zff
That will make the rubber about 22,
LutherBus16
What makes reserved seating better then gen. admission? From the diagram link above, it looks like it isn't unless you have priority seating. Could someone explain, am I wrong about this?
sgm405
Soooo where do all of the students go? Many used to sit in the end zone before...
UAZips
I think the students have to sit in that light blue section, over by the top ticket gate.
Beanie 4 Heisman
yeah you sisnt see it is called the Roo Zoo lol. Isnt it a league rule that the band and the students cant both be on the same side as the visitors?

People in the Gen Admission area will have the sun in their face. reserved seats will have the sun behind them.
ZachTheZip
People in the Gen Admission area will have the sun in their face. reserved seats will have the sun behind them. That depends on the time of day. The Rubber Bowl faces north, and because of our latitude only the endzone seating is guaranteed to never face the sun. Even the reserved seats can face the sun if the game is early, like at 1:00 PM
Balki Bartokomous
putting the students behind the other teams bench is the WORST idea ever.
Wally B
It would appear they are trying to push more spectators to the side of the staduim that appears on camera........ I think
Z-P
I'm pissed.Look at how good the opposing team's tickets are.Whoever set this up must have never attended an away game on an opposing team ticket. We ALWAYS get crap seats ALWAYS.Now we had a chance for payback and didn't pull the trigger.I'm pissed.
Elmore James
Is anyone else envisioning a large logo bearing tarp covering the endzone seats? I sure hope so........or else it could look pretty barren, particularly on TV.

ziptrumpet87
The 2006 Ticket Guide I received in the mail yesterday still shows sections 17-20 as general admission. The "Roo Zoo" must have been conjured up after they released them for publishing. One would think they would do some sort of PR announcement about creating the new "Roo Zoo" area. That's the third different section that the band has occupied in the last few years. We were in sect 2 when I was there, then they got moved to seect 24 when LO was coach.

Dr Z
paint fake people on the tarp to make the rubber bowl look fullHas anyone been to the Superdome? Every seat next to another one is a different color, making it look like their are more people at games than there really are. It's pretty cool. GP1
Reserved seats are much better than GA because the sun will not be in your face the whole game. The only advantage is the closer proximity to the beer garden. The band and students will be on the visitors sideline. It's about time we allow our students to sit over there and heckle the visiting team as bad as ours gets heckled at every other school.Akron needs to move some fans over to the visitor's side just to keep the stadium from looking empty during film session with recruits. All in all, this isn't a bad move.
Zipsrifle
The Good and the bad:Bad: I lose the seats I've sat in for the past 11 seasons... Good: The "new" seats will be better to watch the game. Bad: I'll be farther away from the field.Good: I'll be closer to the opposing team (easier to heckle!) Bad: The student section is on the visitors side. Now the home side (with all the old geezers that complain when I stand up and cheer) will be as loud as Bierce on a Friday Night. Good: The student section is on the visitors side. They should get the opposing team pretty pissed! Bad: The chances of starting the wave just plummeted!Good: I should be on TV more!Bad: Sun in my eyes.Good: Sun keeping me warm.Either way, I'll give it a shot. It's Zips football! Balki Bartokomous
im sure that at some point this season the student section behind the visiting team is going to lead to an ugly ugly situation. Maybe not Ron Artest style bad, but who knows. And once that happens, wave goodbye to zips games being remotely entertaining. The Akron PD will have the student section locked down like a Gestapo boot camp.
ZachTheZip
Remember "Bottle Day" at Browns Statium? There is a strong possibility that an incident like that could happen at the RB if there is just one controversial call that favors the other team. We need that new stadium built soon, before it gets ugly.
