Canton McKinley Makes A Statement With Win Over Cleveland Heights

After a hot start from Lipkins in the first, University of Akron commit Jordan Davis took care of the rest. The 6’7 big man knocked down mid-range jumpers, snatched every rebound that came his way, and altered shots on the defensive end.

Davis went on to tally a game-high 14 points in the first half, but committing his third foul early in the third quarter would serve as the spark that Heights needed to gain some momentum.

Heading into the final quarter with a 6-point deficit, McKinley had no choice but to respond. Jordan Davis, back on the floor playing with 3 fouls, made his presence felt by scoring on the team’s opening possession. McKinley seemed to look like a completely different team with their big man and defensive anchor holding down the fort.

Gotta be glad to get this scholarship back.

I don't want to say JD regressed during his senior year, but he sure didn't progress.

The player I saw play as a junior had a lot of potential.

The player I watched play a handful of times as a senior wouldn't set foot on the court at Akron.

The shooting occurred just to the west of I-77 and about a mile south of the Pro Football HOF ... not really one of Canton's rougher areas.

I've never heard why this kid fell off the college hoops map.  If it was academics, prep schools and JUCOs would seem to have provided viable alternatives.
