Dr Z
• BG runs a fast paced uptempo offense.• We've gotten better at things offensively.• Kyle Ritz is a smart (engineering student), still learning, tough, quick learner.• Jerome Lane is raw, and I expect a safety over top of him now a lot. That will open other things up.
Dr Z
Coach Babers Press Conference • Akron could be the best defense in the east. Their front seven are excellent. Free safety that is active. Their defense is "Big Ten" physical. • BG guys have started locking into their roles.• What makes the offense so complex? I don't want to say too much. Three teams in the conference are imitating our offense. Hmmmm....• We can get better. We had six incompletions.• TW13 is a passer/slasher like they have at Ohio State.• Akron has the complete package.Defensive back Alfonso Mack has his own press conference and notices how strong TW13's arm is. Tight end Derek Lee has his own press conference and indicates BG has so many weapons, it's hard to cover them all.
LZIp
I'm a big fan of Fleck, Campbell, and Babers. Some nice coaches in the MAC.

Dr Z
Babers won't be at BG for long.I don't think getting upset by an 11 point underdog at home on homecoming warrants a firing, but you may be right.
MDZip
Really nice preview of the Zips by one of Ay-Ziggy-Zoomba crowd. Better than what we get a lot of the time. This is going to be a tough, tough game but I genuinely believe the Zips have a legitimate chance.
ZippyRulz
I would say it boils down to pressure/disruption on Johnson; we will need some stops to win.
LZIp
That is a nice preview. He is wrong in his assessment of the DL, though. Se'von Pittman and Marcus weren't so called "busts" like he is referring to. They have real talent, and Coe has been nice as well. I hope Marcus lights Johnson up a few times. It might do some of our own posters some good to read it as this guy from BG seems more impressed with us than some of our own people.I do think he got it backwards that the run sets up the pass, I think it has been the other way around. I also think we have the potential to have an explosive offense with Woodson, Lane, Young, and Davis. Davis going to break one of his mid-range passes for a TD, soon. He has been excellent after the catch. Everyone has their antennas up for Lane. This should really open it up for other receivers. If they put a safety over the top on Jerome, Young might make them pay for it.

Aaron
I'd like to see more about BG's vs Akron's special teams. When the sides of the ball are as evenly matched as they appear to be (on paper), I'd expect the special teams to make a big difference in the game.
skip-zip
Well, it's game day. So, let me recap a previous post about where we stand.I said last week that there were likely 4 more wins on the schedule. We got number 1 last week, and still have 3 to go. That would get us to 6-6 overall. So, where's the "bonus" game that gets us to 7 wins? Could it be today? It's tough to ask for that with probably the best remaining team on our schedule, and on the road. But if we win today, I am going to actually PREDICT that we get to 7 wins. ZippyRulz
If the coaches can figure out a way to get to Johnson and don't get conservative on offense, we have an excellent chance. #Blitzkrieg

johnnyzip84
BIG GAME....Who is the player or players who will make the big plays in the big games???? #RizeUp! I recall Tommy Woodson and Austin Wolf connecting on a long TD pass during the closing moments of the blowout win over Howard when they were both RS FR. I thought at the time that perhaps that was the 1st of many over their Zip careers. That hasn't happened yet, but with the deserved attention on Jerome Lane, maybe Austin will have a breakout game today?
