VA game. I know that Adam's injury appeared more serious but Brad had to come out with 4 minutes to go and he is a warrior. I hope that both are healthy.and obviously , the writer should have said Akron had great early season wins over Georgetown and Maryland...and both of those teams defeated the Bruins in that same weekend
fknbuflobo
I have a bad feeling about this one, which may indicate nothing more than my absurdly high emotional investment. I have issues, especially regarding Zips Soccer.

TennZip
Is Danilo Radjen injured? It is very hard for an outside DB to move back to the Center as Andrew has been asked to do today.
UAZipster0305
I love this match-up...UCLA's willingness to come to Akron late in the season is awesome. Kudos to the coaching staff for scheduling UCLS as well. Always great to play a big name opponent with tradition and success at home...this is exactly what we hope for with OOC football and basketball schedules but don't get. It's tough to see us concede goals immediately after starting or ending a half or after scoring ourselves. This never happened with Porter's team, and is likely the greatest difference between the two coaching eras. Let's hope the Zips win the second half by at least one goal.

malonepioneer12
2 more goals for UCLA. 4 - 2 Bruins. Defense was not good today, multiple breakdowns and overall lack of speed. Not sure why Radjen didn't play but him not playing really showed. Numerous times our defenders were beaten too the ball. Not good at all and extremely disappointing performance considering what was on the line.

malonepioneer12
A few other notes. UCLA is a good team, I just wish Richie and Radjen were playing. Najem and Souto played well. We just have to learn from this game and move on. The goals are all still on the table.
malonepioneer12
Agreed, I think we will be fortunate to get a top 8 seed if we out.
UAZipster0305
Forget top 4 seeding.I agree, especially given the committee's biased history against us.Look out if ND makes the semi-finals of the ACC Tournament. I could see ACC teams getting all four of the top seeds.

UAZipster0305
That was not going to happen anyway. If we had won out, I think it would have happened. If we lose again, I think a Top 8 seed is at risk. Even a tie against remaining MAC competition is pushing the limits for a Top 8 seed, commensurate RPI or not. If they beat Virginia and lose in the semis, there is no way that they get a top 4 seed.link below to ACC drawhttp://www.theacc.com/page/championship_m-soccer

Even a tie against remaining MAC competition is pushing the limits for a Top 8 seed, commensurate RPI or not.No way to prove or disprove. Just my opinion that the Zips have to be near perfect to get a top 4 seed given the way that power conferences protect each other on the selection committee. If the Zips didn't get a top 4 when we were 3 in RPI under CP, no way did I see it happening this year.Regardless, the absence of Radjen and the idiot YC accumulation by Richie bothers me more than losing this match. The Zips cannot go deep in the NCAA Tourney with players not stepping up for their team. Edited November 1, 2015 by Zip_ME87
TennZip
quotes from Coach Embick in the Beacon JournalThe Bruins maintained possession throughout the match at a much higher percentage than the Mid-American Conference opponents the Zips typically face at this point in the season.“It reminds you that you can’t be reactive, you’ve got to be proactive,” UA coach Jared Embick said of facing a team with UCLA’s style of play. “You’ve got to be focus and have concentration for 90 minutes.“The intensity level and speed of the game was a lot higher than the other games we’ve been playing lately, and when you don’t play those [types of matches] in a couple of weeks, you kind of look like [we did today.]”“I thought we over-celebrated the goal and we lost our momentum,” Embick said of the goal that tied the match 2-2. “I think we zapped ourselves with too much energy and emotion and we never really recovered from that.“To their credit, they have players up top that are difficult to handle. If you can’t have the energy and intensity required, then they’re going to have some moments and in those moments they punished us and we weren’t able to get [the momentum] back.”
fknbuflobo
Our Center Backs were consistently overwhelmed by Bruins' Forwards, #9 and #17. Now, it must be noted that both of these UCLA players will be in the MLS soon.
