ShockZip Posted November 17, 2015 Report Share Posted November 17, 2015 Zip fans,Please excuse my newbie status. My college aged son and I are headed to Akron for the Nov. 27th game. To say we are ignorant about the Zips and the Akron area is a major understatement. I don't want to get too personal about why we are attending, but we are looking at the university and the athletics environment. We really want to get a feel for the city. I need help for game day places to go, sports bars for Thanksgiving evening, local food, even good places to stay near downtown?and campus?. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also, I see the Zips are playing Charleston Southern in hoops that evening. I actually have seen them play, and don't take the Buccaneers too lightly. I guess we will check south and west. We can't go northeast on this game weekend. Go Zips!North Canton and Fairlawn are only 8-or-so minutes away, and have plenty of hotel options.
