Goal of the Season Winner Re-Signs with LouCity

USL Goal of the Season winner Aodhan Quinn will return to Louisville City in 2016, the Club announced Tuesday. Last season, the San Diego, Calif., native dazzled with a pair of unforgettable goals — one that was immortalized by a national fan-vote as Goal of the Season. Quinn was a key component in the offense that tallied the most goals in the league last season. ...

nice comments from coach Embick in the news release on Richie

"Richie has really developed his game in his two years at Akron to the point where the MLS rewarded his efforts with a Generation adidas contract," Akron head coach Jared Embick commented. "He showed this season that he is one of the best players in the country. Playing in the MLS was always a goal he wanted to achieve and we are very happy we could help him achieve this dream. We want thank him for all of his efforts in school and on the field to represent the University of Akron so well. He has made The University of Akron proud and we look forward to seeing him further his career in the MLS."

and on this board....fknbuflobo did a great job yesterday in expressing appreciation from zips nation for all that #6 did for the zips. Richie definitely made the university proud and I am looking forward to seeing Reggie Laryea at Cub Cadet field.

Zarek Valentin? Really? I thought he retired due to injury. Maybe he still wants it. Best of luck to him.

If any of you have met that cat; he is quite the character - the proverbial life of the party. Great dude!

Assuming Wikipedia is correct, Zarek is now a free agent after 2015 with Bode/Glimt (Norway?)

Although the scores at the MLS Combine don't matter, I still like seeing our Head Coach & his Timbers assistant, Team X coaches, win. Team X 1-0 first day at the combine.

I think that Ampai is still playing pro soccer in Thailand....so I guess that this is as good a topic as any to post...

Ampai posted a photo on Twitter on Jan. 4th of he and his long time lady friend...with the caption "she said yes!! " and a photo of an engagement ring

Ampai was the first superstar recruit to believe in Caleb's vision...so he will always be a favorite of this zips soccer fan

Congratulations to Ampai and Anna, his fiancee. Much happiness is wished to both of you.

A Look At The 2016 Generation Adidas Signings - By Ben Roth

...Richie Laryea (Akron): Add another one to the Zips historic list of GA signings. Laryea, another playmaker has play reminiscent to former Akron star and U.S. national teamer, Darlington Nagbe. The Canadian international and Sigma FC product was part of one of the most dynamic attacks in college soccer this past year as he notched 11 goals and 7 assists of his own. ...

As Wil Trapp reflects on 2015 the first word that comes to mind is ‘roller coaster’.

comments by Ives.....on how Richie Laryea and others performed in the first 2 days

Funny that Mary (Zips Soccer fan who sits 2 rows behind me at FES-CCF) mentioned this exact issue at the Mens Basketball game Saturday evening:

Richie Laryea (Akron) – Also had an improved Day 2, but still pretty quiet. He cut down on the sloppy giveaways that plagued him on Friday, but the midfielder needs to do more to make an impact on games.
