It feels like the last few days UA has been undoing all of Scarborough's big ideas.
UAZippers
Obviously it would have been better to never enact all of these initiatives in the first place, but you have to have a bit of respect for the fact that UA administrators are willing to admit that they have made mistakes and are taking steps to correct them. It shows that they are truly trying to make the university a better place, they just do not have any idea of what it will take.
LosAngelesZipFan
Good intentions doesn't/shouldn't cut it... this is another key initiative that has proven to be a pig in a poke. Anyone know the status of the cadet corp? I can see that being the next idea to get yanked...

Cutting the program would lead to those kids going elsewhere, and UA can't afford any dips in enrollment right now. Instead, I see Scarborough being shown the door over the summer. The Trustees need a scapegoat. Edited May 28, 2016 by ZachTheZip
LosAngelesZipFan
It would be incredible if the BoT pulled the trap door that quickly... but remember, they are the ones that hired him in the first place. Let's take a brief trip down memory lane and remember the keystone cop-like process that led to the hiring of Scar... the many months of advance notice Proenza gave, the haphazard search that seemed to be kabuki theater to hire Tressel, the push back on that by actual academics, the sudden announcement of Scar because YSU had forced our hand by hiring Tressel. Cripes. It was all a disaster from the beginning...

If it comes to that, then the trustees themselves need to resign.
Hilltopper
The trustees should have told the faculty senate to sit down and shut up and hire this guy. http://mweb.cbssports.com/ncaaf/feature/25431105/president-tressel

Have to love academia. The same nerds who fought so hard to not have Tressel be President are now fighting to get rid of his alternative. Reading those old threads probably makes for some cheap entertainment. Edited May 30, 2016 by LZIp
Blue & Gold
Yep. Tressel is a natural born leader. And he really wanted the job. He loves challenges & is tireless, well-spoken and intelligent. He would have made us the #2 school in the state.
