However it seems there is such a drop-off after Marcus and Pittman that we really shouldn't be seeing those two off the field as much as they have been. We are missing Brock Boxen and Andrew Hauser, which is hurting, some. John Rachal is getting beat pretty badly. Quote
Balsy Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 Zips offense is not getting any help from the Zips defense. The defense hasn't been getting any help from special teams. With that said, this App. State team is good. They came ready to play with a plan that has been well executed. Those 2 early INTs by Woodson will be the deciding factor in this game IMHO. They're down 14 right now, which App. State got off of the 2 turnovers. Quote
ZippyRulz Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 I'm just watching the scoreboard but it seems like all I see is long yardage situations for the Zips. Quote
lance99 Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 The Fighting Kangaroos back in this. 31-38 App State..... Quote
zipsoutsider Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 Our D isn't where anyone wants it to be, but hat's off to the mental toughness that has worked the Zips back into this game. 1-2 years ago, we were done once we were down. 1 Quote
lance99 Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 Natson is hurt. Not good.... Quote

zipsoutsider Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 Natson is back, with a nice catch. Quote

zipsoutsider Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 Nice score. Zips within 7. No excuses necessary. Quote
lance99 Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 The points off turnovers is the difference in this game... Quote
zipsoutsider Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 I was concerned coming into this game that if it came down to the 2nd half of the 4th Q that our D would be too tired to put up any type of serious stop. That might the case at this point. Quote

kreed5120 Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 The defense is definitely a work in progress. Overall I was happy with the effort. 1 Quote

Joe Dunn pointed out the major change in attitude that the Zips and their fans are disappointed to lose and not just happy to keep it within 7. Great offensive effort. Great team battle. The defense has a long way to go. 2 Quote
Balsy Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 There were a lot of injuries in the Defense right? i also noticed that Marcus was not on the field for a large portion of the 2nd half. This defense should be enough to help carve up the MAC East. Quote

They played hard but App State was just more physical on offense. Quote

scottditzen Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 It looked like we were running our old 3-3-5 defense today! Well, the band sounded good. 1 Quote

We should be expecting to win our last 8 games. That may not happen, but that is the mindset winning teams need to have. 2 Quote
