We still owe $60M on the stadium? The total cost wasn't much more than that, was it? I would have thought the sale of naming rights alone would have brought the balance below $60M.

The bill for college football in Akron is about $4.8 million a season.

In Kent, it’s about $3.2 million.

Between the 2 guarantee games vs PSU and Bama this season, the MAC TV deal, and CFB playoff money alone no way Kent is losing money of football operations if those cost figures are accurate.

Between Akron's guarantee game vs. Wisconsin, MAC TV deal, and CFB playoff money Akron is bringing in something a little over 3 million. That doesn't include any ticket sales or sponsorship. If Akron is losing money on the day to day operations of football, it can't be much. The football stadium on the other hand is a sunk cost. They will have to continue paying on that if they cut the program or not.

The reason UA football is in the situation we see today is - Our Department of Athletics has been run by carpetbaggers, ladder climbers or imbeciles for a quarter century.

If you want to judge Zips football by what a former Black Sabbath roadie has to say, it speaks to your sports acumen:
