Z.I.P. Posted August 29, 2017 Report Posted August 29, 2017 That seems amazing to me. When I left Akron (1984) I can't even remember that Hoban ever even HAD a football team! If they did they were totally irrelevant from the sport. When did Hoban football become relevant? Quote

He's the best high school back I've ever seen. (Including Beanie Wells - who didn't have much of an O-line blocking for him.) Ricky Powers was a little before my time. Quote
GP1 Posted February 27, 2023 Report Posted February 27, 2023 While it's true, what's really going on? I have a brother who in Columbus who says there is more than meets the eye and we were not brought up in NE Ohio. https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/sports/high-school/football/2023/02/26/stvm-president-blames-hoban-for-halting-akron-holy-war/69946218007/ Quote
Blue & Gold Posted February 28, 2023 Report Posted February 28, 2023 Apparently an assistant coach from Hoban called someone from STVM a "meanie-head," which, of course, is enough of an offense to cancel the game. Words are violence, after all. 1 Quote

There's always going to be something." - Quote from ABJ article I quote in this post. I heard from someone well connected to Ohio high school football that these off field problems have become large enough that people from around the state are talking about it. Maybe the fan bases need a little cooling off period. Quote
