Dr Z
Logan Woodside is the ninth rated QB in the country PS It's a little shocking to me that Mayfield is number one, I saw nothing special when he played the Zips. He obviously improved.

He's listed at 6'2" so not your prototypical NFL QB size wise but he's tough, unflappable, smart, and accurate. No way he goes #1 unless he crushes the Combine and interviews.

I was using classic HTML formatting but the output looks nothing like I was expecting (bordered table) so obviously the backend is doing something different than expected. I just saw the preview icon in the toolbar so I'll play around with some tables and see what I can do for next week. Warning for next week - I'm not going to be listing the players' #s that are in on each play (too time consuming)

Kobie Booker is one of the best offensive true freshmen we have seen in the Bowden era. I think if we had Williams back, Booker might be averaging more snaps because we would be utilizing the 2 TE blocking scheme, more. Junk is not in the same league as Williams and booker. Having MTB back next year will make this position an even bigger threat. 2.) If we have decided to burn Andre Williams' redshirt - let's get him going. He and Stewart have the potential to be impact players. I hope they are both working really hard to learn the offense and the skills needed to be effective at the D1 level. Dr Z
What if we set something like this up? Would it be easier? Someone with knowledge of excel can add the percentages and snap counts automatically. Then we could compare week to week and notice trends and strategies. File can be found here if anybody with wants to do it this week.

I'm not sure how it will work opening a separate excel file like this, but I have seen people use Google Docs for similar situations. So we are going to need a separate tab for each game it looks like, then maybe a summary tab showing trends. I'm an excel nerd so I'll most likely mess around with it some. This could probably warrant its own thread/a sticky IMO.
CDMac
Looks good, @Dr Z I'm rather handy with excel too but I'll let @LZIp play around with it some. I could do the calculations and whatnot but he may be better with pulling out the data into a chart/pivot table/etc. I like the idea of a main tab plus tabs for each game. Turning around an 85 student football program takes time. Especially turning around one that was the absolute worst in D-1A. If Bowden would have chosen from Day 1 to recruit freshmen, redshirt them and slowly build a program, he would have been fired within 3-4 years max. You don't win with 18 and 19 year olds. And no AD in today's world waits 4 years to become competitive. So Bowden chose to heavily utilize transfers in the beginning. And we became relatively competitive in a short time. And being relatively competitive allowed us to get a nice recruiting class this past February, and redshirt most of them. For the first time, we have some depth, and can let players develop. This year's recruiting class, by seemingly everyone's estimation, is Bowden's best to-date. The bulk of those kids will be redshirted, and we have the makings of a deep, year-in-year-out competitive upper-tier MAC program. I see us winning 3 of our remaining 4 games. 7-5 would be a great season considering our original circumstances, and the future would look bright too. Our program is now appealing to some decent HS talent. That's my view. Like it or not. You talk about Bowden like you talk about those cupcake wins in basketball. Nom nom nom nom... are you on his payroll?

He verballed early, so if we were his only offer that may have had something to do with it (I saw him play a few times in hs & thought he should be getting interest). Physically, I just thought he was a beast, so I was glad when he verballed. But I really thought we'd use him at DE. He's only 6'0" tall, so that's pretty short for a TE. But what do I know?... seems to be working out. Edited October 28, 2017 by Blue & Gold

I thought we would too, but if I'm not mistaken he played both TE and DE in HS and so far he's been very good at TE. I only brought this up because we always have some, complainers, on here about people having "only one D-1 offer".
