Zip Watcher
Zips win looking better and better as the season goes. Now JD & the boys need to right the ship and show they didn't peak in week 2.Go Zips!
Sergeant Zip
show they didn't peak in week 2.I don't know if you were joking but I found that hysterical.
Ryno aka Menace
NC State also has a different QB now, We hurt ourselves by not beating Central and Can't. We could be looking at a 25-35 national ranking.
GoZips88
NC State was also without cornerback A.J. Davis for the Akron game. Different QB, starting CB, different outcome? ESPN didn't do Akron any favors at the start of last night's game when they zeroed in on Kennedy's elbow possibly being on the ground before the ball crossed the goal line. I'll keep the win of NCST 'cause I just wonder if we DID peak in week 2!NO doubt Amato is 'the chest.' The guy sure seems proud of his rack! Jalapeño Zippy
I here Amato tries to suckle from his own breast! We beat NC State, our team played hard and that's all that matters! I will be going down to Cincinnati tomorrow. Looking forward to a tough win!!
Captain Kangaroo
NC State was also without cornerback A.J. Davis for the Akron game. We were without Kennedy for most of the CMU game. Injuries happen. Sucks to be NC State.
KeeprOFtheHous
NC state winning does look good for us regarless who played diff. last night then against us. Unfortunately it does not mean any thing because we lost twice. if we dont win out the rest there is no show at post season

Unfortunately it does not mean any thing because we lost twice. if we dont win out the rest there is no show at post season Not true. We win out and we have a solid chance at one of the MAC's bowl bids. Can we win out? Not if our offense doesn't get their act together...or the defense plays another game like K.e.n.t. But, it is very realistic that we get a bowl bid if we win-out. The 15K+ we brought to Detroit last season coupled with wins vs BCS schools makes (or will make) us very attractive to the bowls. Zip Watcher
My prediction of the week: If UA wins 7, they're going bowling. Just go 5-2 the rest of the way & there will be a bowl game.If past years are any indication, it's quite possible there won't be enough bowl eligible teams (7 wins in a 12 game season) to fill the 64 bowl slots. In '04 when MSU got jobbed @ Hawaii, the Zips were the only team left out of a 58 team bowl slate. Good chance this year that any and all 7 win teams are bowling. ToledoRockets
With 12 games this year, there will be plenty of teams that make it. Akron is not going bowling even if they win out. The only teams going bowling this year from the MAC are the division champs and maybe NIU or WMU, which ever one does not win the West. One thing they are going to look at is your average home attendance is going to be barely 15,000 and that is not attractive, especially when you get outdrawn by Can't and Youngstown.I said this a year ago...you guys are a flush in the pan. We are not really playing well right now, but one bad season does not ruin tradition....and one good season does not make one.

While we probably won't be bowling this year, it's not the end of the world. If we would have had the season many expected us to, we probably would have been saying bye bye to JD. The guy can coach and is still learning like the rest of his young recruits. This just means we have his services a lot longer. The zips will be fine, and soon we'll be saying bye bye to the rubber bowl and moving into a brand new facility that may very well rival the glass bowl. We just need to figure out how to finish this season with some positives. Rome wasn't built in a day my friend. Also, in regard to this "tradition" that you speak of, isn't Miami supposed to be a school renowned for "tradition"? It sure does jack squat for them. Its like once they start losing nobody cares to see the sweaters anymore. No school in the MAC really has "tradition" and nobody ever said that we do. "Tradition" draws 110k per game come rain and shine. BCS fans would laugh at that statement. So really, flaming on our board while our team is struggling tends to wreak of inferiority complex. Things aren't goin the way you want it to either so you have to brag about your so called "tradition". The fans on this board bleed Akron blue and gold and could care less about Toledo's so called tradition.
ToledoRockets
Tradition is relative. Obviously, there are a lot of schools with tradition that do not draw 110k a game. In the MAC, Toledo has a tradition of success. In the Big-10 or nation, OSU has a tradition of success. In Division III, Mt. Union has a tradition of success. To compare everyone to the n'th degree is not realistic. And, not to split hairs, but it is, "...couldn't care less", not, "...could care less." Sergeant Zip
And, not to split hairs, but it is, "...couldn't care less", not, "...could care less."Why are you jumping to conclusions? If zipsbandman cares to any degree at all about tradition, it is possible to care less. If ZPM does not care at all (Zero), than it is impossible to care less. There is no caring less then Zero, it is impossible to care less than that amount. Let me put it to you in terms you can probably relate: Toledo Rockets couldn't have less sex. This means that you don't have any sex and therefore can not have less sex than not having sex at all. For the Zips fan: We could have less sex because We are getting laid all the time and therefore have some action to spare. You bore me with you subpar intellect. ziplock
Hey stop you guys!! Toledo is to be respected. Remember, Amstutz told recruits they would be in the Big East. Perhaps he did not specify that this was part of their future travel schedule and not their future conference affiliation.Go Zips!!
