dirtyolcrowe Posted April 15, 2019 Report Posted April 15, 2019 Cincy just hired John Brannen as its next head coach. Now a vacancy at NKU....could you see any of our assistants possible candidates for NKU or another program? Quote

clarkwgriswold Posted April 15, 2019 Report Posted April 15, 2019 I could see Dustin Ford being as a head coach at some point, but not now. Assistants generally move up to HC jobs either as a promotion where they are (and Groce is going nowhere for now) or they move on from a very successful program (which UA is not right now). A small college could take interest, but he's going nowhere in D1 as he's attached to Groce right now and Groce isn't having great success. Also, D1 programs are more likely to look for P5 assistants than MAC assistants. 1 Quote
kangaroo kid Posted April 15, 2019 Report Posted April 15, 2019 I don't think he's primed for a HC job anytime soon but Rob Fulford's experience at Huntington Prep could make him a recruiting tool for a major program Quote
kreed5120 Posted April 15, 2019 Report Posted April 15, 2019 Yes, I'd say the likelihood of us losing an assistant to become an assistant at a larger program is far more likely than one leaving us to be a D1 head coach elsewhere. Quote

I could see a small chance if given an interview he could be considered. Rob would be closer to Huntington Prep...if he had success at NKU....could that lead into a potential gig at Marshall with Huntington Prep as a pipeline. NKU is still a young basketball program to wear they could think outside the box and go a less traditional route. Quote
