Lee Adams
ok the scrimmage is over. how did Can't lose to those guys? zips tried but couldn't keep 'da bulls' in the game. still too much confusion on the sideline and on the field for the 10th game of the year.still too many yards on the ground by the D.still too many bad decisions by the coaches, the QB and #72 on the O line.Jackson's bomb was beautiful...if Harvey gets some hands he'll greatOhio U?? they see the ground game will kill the zips on D...they see the speed rush will get to Getsy..they see the punt and field goal teams are subjects for a comedy routine..Zips better play it like their BOWL game or OU wins the division on Akron's watch.akronoldtimer
knowalot
the zips d only gave up 248 total yards to the bulls offense. your the only guy confused.and if you want to point a finger at anyone since you know it all; look to the offensive line. they are a bunch of undiscipled shelfish punks; mostly #72. crap rolls downhill and it starts from the top. they truly suck. d does their job dude! :rock:plus there was a pi on the cj pass to harvey; you should try actually watching a game dumb ass! and one more thing ; the d held the bulls to under 100 total rushing yards, with 25 negative.....bro get a clue' my grandmother knows more about this game than you!!!!!!!! The conversation was about this year's game against the Bulls. And I don't care if I've been to Detroit 50,000 times, i would love to go again this year. The D played good yesterday! They had a few mistakes, but let's not forget that the Bulls only scored 10 until the 4th quarter when they scored against our 2nd and 3rd string! That's not reflective of how our D played. You can't blame the "Regular" D for the last TD. The D has been playing better against rushing than they have against the pass. Have you not seen our secondary all season? They have no pass defense! Our corners have been getting blown out of the water!Agreed with knowalot! Let's go back and watch film from all the games this season. The major problems is our lack of blocking on the OL, the horrible passes from the QB, and when he does get a good one off, the dropped passes from receivers. Until the last few games (against bad defenses), Kennedy was averaging about 3 yards per run! That's horrible! Defense can allow TDs, but offense has to score in order to win! Cincinnati was the perfect example.....D held the Bearcats to 20 points (which everyone knows that, as tradition has it, when a D can hold a team to 21 points or less, they normally win the game!). Did we win at Cincy? NO!!! Our offense scored 14 points. Yeah, our defense has had their bad games, but a hell of a lot less than the offense!!And don't get me started on penalties......the offense has helped us gain the recognition of the most penalized team in the country! And I think we all know who most of that thanks can go to....or at least knowitall does!It doesn't take 75 years of watching football to see who is the better side of the ball! Ballingirl
and another thing.....neither of you must've been watching the game 'cause CJ's bomb of a pass was to Lindsay, not Harvey!
Lee Adams
the only argument IS the "OVERALL RECORD" now is it not?and yes it does matter how many games you(or i) have seen... actually now thats the bottom line...this is not DIII,DII...this is about playoffs, bowl games and money...the better they play...the happier the fans...more butts in the seats...more playoffs...more bowls...more good recruits on and on and on...akronoldtimer
Lee Adams
sorry folks...this is fun...i'm tired of watching Faust and Owens go 5-6,4-6 etc. etc. I'm tired of paying for seasons year after year and nothing else...ther's some promise here...akronoldtimer
Ballingirl
You just contradicted yourself here.....you say in one comment that "this is about playoffs, bowl games and money...the better they play...the happier the fans...more butts in the seats...more playoffs...more bowls...more good recruits on and on and on...", but you also say that "i want to go to Toronto more than you do cause i went to Detroit twice". How can you want a winning team that brings more fans, money, recruits, etc, but say you want to go to Toronto b/c you've already been to Detroit. Going to Toronto would mean we would have to lose the chances of MACC. That's like OSU saying "we've been to the national championship, so I want to go to the Alamo Bowl this year!!" First, who would want to take less 'cause you've seen more before, and 2nd.....Make up ya damn mind!
RowdyZip
Am I the only one on here wondering what you all are fighting about? The Zips just won two straight for the first time all season, we're up to .500, and on a semi-roll going into Athens. 4 solid quarters and this team could beat anyone in the MAC. Guaranteed. So lets all be friends and look forward to next thursday.

hey yo
You look at Akron as a whole and you see the chance to make it to a bowl game if some things fall in place. You speak of the secondary being poor. Outside of a horrid Can't game - when have the corners been torched - yes the offense is undisciplined - but they w on period. I always celebrate a victory. those kids don't always win great but they win. Last time I checked - holding someone to roughly 202 yds. (take away 2nd and 3rd string drive) is pretty good. Remember the other team has scholarship players too! See you in OHIO or let's fill the stands in two weeks vs. WMU. 20000+

Captain Kangaroo
Have you not seen our secondary all season? They have no pass defense! Our corners have been getting blown out of the water! That's because we've had Z-E-R-O pass rush. We've been dead-last in the MAC in sacks all season. It's funny how good the opposing QB looks when he goes untouched all game. Look at Getsy...he's looked great the past couple games...because he's actually had some protection. It works both ways.Anderson, Jones and Corner have been excellent this year. Tate's been "average." Nedd has filled in well for Pace. The secondary is the least of our problems. Our 3-man D-line has killed us this year.
