Football grandma
I'm watching a particular OL. He stops or delays his man about once in 4-5 downs. Most of Temple's big defensive plays were made by players that got past him. Last week was the same. How can the coaches not see this? He needs replaced. Also, why doesn't the coach put in his 2/3 depth players when the game is a blow out? Last week...several players didn't get to play a down. Would have been a good learning experience for those players. It's not like they would lose the game by playing. Same thing now. 45-24 with minutes to play! Let's see some other players! Zipmeister
I have a hunch your grandson is, at best, third on the depth chart because it is highly unlikely that second teamers didn't make it into either of the first two games. Look at the bright side; if he doesn't get put into more than four games this year his red shirt year is preserved and maybe if he gains some weight and strength he will be able to play for a different head coach. BTW, what is the name of the OL who you believe is doing an impersonation of a sieve?
bigjim
I agree with the excellent comments from the Z-meister. Also, looking at the number of posts, your grandson is a freshman. If his name is Colin, please relax. He is a tough player and will get his time. His high school film shows that he is an excellent player. It is difficult for true freshman to see significant time on the field. They typically need a year to bulk up a little and gain some strength to be competitive. Also, most coaches defer to the players who have been there for a year or two if all things are equal. Also, I would ask that you think about your comments regarding a family member. A few years back, there was a dad that would make posts about what he heard from his son was going on in the locker room with the team. It became quite apparent that he was reporting issues that should stay in the locker room as well as comments about his son, who was not that good. It was not long before his son was off the roster (I do not know the reason) and there would not be any additional internal comments being posted. The playing time for your grandson will end up as it is supposed to be. I wish you well and I hope that you continue to support all of the Zips, including your grandson.
Zippy1986
It’s hard to blame one player for big defensive plays football grandma. Your grandsons time will come if he earns it.
Football grandma
All 3 of you have me pegged wrong and have assumed I have a grandson on the team. Yes, I'm a grandma and have bleacher butt from all the football games I watched. I'm new here because I just recently found this chat. Things aren't always as they seem. So, what is the name of the lineman whose performance you found to be inadequate?
