bigzipguy
Thrilled to be wrong. Past success does mean a difference. But would think that the MAC would get 5 teams in . Seriously. Try to speak objectively, despite our love of Zips soccer

Zip_ME87
Also HAPPY to be wrong. I never would have thought 5 of 7 MAC teams would get into the NCAA tournament. Yay for the MAC!

Bowling Green - WOW.....they were selected over Michigan and Stanford...!!! the cutoff line for RPI was #37..... NCAA committee did not choose #37 Loyola Marymount they passed on #39 Michigan ; #40 Rhode Island ; #42 Cornell ; #43 and #44 Elon and Northeastern ; #45 Stanford ; #46 VCU ; #48 Central Arkansas.... and they selected #49 Bowling Green as the last at large team in the NCAA

bigzipguy
No doubt IHMO that the selection committee now recognizes the MAC as a solid men's soccer conference!!!

SBZipfan
I think you guys are over-estimating the importance of conference. IMO, it has more to do with individual team results against higher ranked (by RPI) opponents. Against the RPI top 50, BUGS was 3-4-1. Michigan was 1-6-2. Stanford was 0-3-3. Which team would you pick based on those stats alone?

BGSU also had a 2-0 win over #13 seed FIU they lost 1-0 to #14 seed Marshall on a goal at 88 minutes BGSU played a tough non league schedule.

I also think that Penn State deserved to be a top 16 seed...despite being 21 in the RPI
bigzipguy
Us and N. Ill on one side of the bracket, W. Virg, BG, and GA State on the other side. Hey! fknbuflobo
St. Louis got a bit of a raw deal. Billikens deserved a #8 seed. Difference between #10 and #8 is significant.
