timmyboy Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 For all of you who werent able to see, Luke Getsy played in a "All Star" game yesterday. He did have a ncie TD pass and he also RAN (yes i said RAN) for a td. He also did alot of the same things that we have been used to seeing the last 2 season.... over throwing players, under throwing players, throwing into double coverage. Even thought the scouts said he had a good week of preperation for the game, one scout said what we all already know, He cant throw the deep ball, not very mobile, and makes bad decisions.next year is a different story.... we will have a mobile qb who can make plays....here is my prediction for next year, MAC champs or i hope so lol. Captain Kangaroo Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 one scout said what we all already know, He cant throw the deep ball He must have watched a different Luke Getsy that I did for two years. Luke wasn't the best QB I ever saw, but he could throw a nice deep ball. Ask David Harvey. Quote
timmyboy Posted January 15, 2007 Author Report Posted January 15, 2007 but if you have ever noticed. the deep balls he threw to harvey, arthur an long were when they were open and didnt really have much coverage on them. very rarely in the NFL will you see a WR get as open as they did in college when he was throwing them deep balls. I have the game tivo'ed but have not watched all of it yet. Good luck finding a box for the game :unsure:I did notice NIU Can't State and PITT stickers on his helmet. If he is the one that gets to pick those logos, it tells me two things.1. There are no hard feelings about Pitt. 2. He is a bigger MAC fan than me, I'm not sure I could put a flush sticker on anything other than my Quote

Would it have been better if he threw them into triple coverage?Low mobility? - YesBad decisions when heavily pressured? - YesThrows a bad deep ball? - No way. If our WR was open, more often than not he put it on the money.Off the top of my head I believe he threw for 40+ TD's and finished #2 in U of A all-time passing yardage despite only playing 2 seasons. I've seen worse. Quote
timmyboy Posted January 15, 2007 Author Report Posted January 15, 2007 no i wouldnt rather him throw into triple coverage. but what im sayng is that the speed difference between the college and pro's is tremendous. if he has trouble throwing the deep ball in college to a player who is covered, then imagine how it will be in the pros when the wr is almost never wide open on deep routes.
