zipsrule Posted September 2, 2022 Report Posted September 2, 2022 Early on, Akron possessing the ball, but no goals yet. Quote
MDZip Posted September 2, 2022 Report Posted September 2, 2022 I like Chad Welker I think he does a good job but he's cracking me up pronouncing the Wright State goalie as JIM-en-nez instead of hi(m)-MEN-ez. 😊 1 Quote

fknbuflobo Posted September 4, 2022 Report Posted September 4, 2022 (edited) Catching up during a very busy weekend for Zips MSOC.  AKR 5-1 WSU FT  Zips dominated throughout.  Josef Paulus played his best match as a Zip to date. He tackled well and distributed well with a high rate of pass completion. His left-footed screamer of goal put the Zips in front, a lead Zips never relinquished. That ball would have cleared the stadium but for the crossbar. Paulus is learning how to keep his fire under control without extinguishing it. Way to go, Joey!  Jonas Buechte again steadily directed the defense. But for just a few minor breakdowns, the defense was clean and efficient. The PK resulted from an unfortunate tackle in the box by Joel Sangwa. It was not a dumb foul as is sometimes the case, simply unlucky. The subsequent conversion ruined GK Mitch Budler's clean sheet. But overall, the defense was cohesive and disciplined.  Freshman Ashton Kamdem is a standout in the making. Two aspects impress: His foot speed and his willingness to employ either foot. His long-range bomb of a score from the right side with the left foot will be remembered for some time. It was a popular topic of conversation during yesterday's festivities. Edited September 4, 2022 by fknbuflobo grammar 3 Quote
TennZip Posted September 4, 2022 Report Posted September 4, 2022 Playing time must be found for Ashton Kamdem.  Even though he is left footed (preference), Ashton also made 2 excellent entry passes into the box….while Ashton was playing out of position as a right back.  Ashton has a nose for the goal and his left footed screamer was spectacular.  When Malik Henry is 100 percent healthy and 100 percent fit, I want to see Malik Henry playing the full 90 minutes at right defensive back.  Malik Henry is spectacular and provides great quality service into the box.  Left defensive back is Ashton Kamdem’s natural position.  I would like to see Ashton Kamdem starting for the zips at left back.    2 Quote
