Akron hasn't won anything yet, hasn't beaten anybody on the road (as bad as you beat OU at home, you still lost on the road to them), and has no history of doing well in the MAC tournament. Might be a little early to start NCAA reservations.

I don't even see people here declaring us MAC champs.We know we have our work cut our for us.I just checked out OU's sked...yeah, lots of quality road wins there too. OU is a rival and arguably our biggest one in hoops behind Can't State. I won't lie. It feels really good beating our rival by 30 and watching Bubba choke under the heat. If you guys would have given us a pounding like that in the convo don't think there would not be any pats on the back on bobcatattack. As you can see, nobody has crowned us champions, and many of us were very critical after the Toledo loss. However, we are also going to praise our team when they do well.

Oh Man. Right after I complimented an OU fan last night for showing some class on here, we get more OU fans finding acting stupid again.1) Folks, you were blown out of the arena. I'd be hiding if I were you.2) Stop the gloating about stealing Bubba from us. Do you now understand what we knew all along about him? He's selfish, and will cost you more wins down the road. Get used to it. 3) We've beaten plenty of teams on the road this year.4) You're cutting on us for losing to Toledo on the road by 3 ?? They are one of the best teams in the league !!5) You guys still beat us at your place? That was 2 MONTHS AGO !! And anyone can beat anyone on any given night. Go back to your own message board already. Who knows how far we will go this year. None of us knows that right now. But ANYONE that knows ANYTHING about basketball would tell you that Akron has now developed into a far superior team than OU during the course of this season.

I grew up on a farm and let me just inform you that there is not a cow on the face of the earth that ugly. I like the rivalry with OU. It's good for both schools and the MAC. Bhugh and OZoner make a few good points and they deserve credit for making 'em. They are right, we haven't won anything yet. We need to stay focused and set the bar very high. I hope they realize we aren't satisfied with beating them, although it feels so good. We want the MAC championship and a trip to the big dance. If someone is going to talk smack to us, which I don't feel these two guys did, that's OK. It happens on this board and others.We are building our program. There are not many teams in the MAC that can say that. Our attendance is increasing, we will have another 20+ wins season, recruiting is at the top of the MAC, we have a great coach signed for a long time who wants to be here, and one day marketing will wake up and start doing its job. But until we win the MAC and get to the NCAA's some of our rival posters are right ... we haven't done enough yet. I still like the OU campus.

I went over before the game yesterday in a very civil manner with my game thoughts. There were a few wonderful posters there, but the majority chose to rip into me and Akron for no reason. The school, the city, the academics, the team, the coach - they hit on just about everything. And when you fire the first shots like that and then drop a game by 31, you better damned well be ready for some smack to come back your way.It's all in good fun to me anyway...I think most of them realized that. Oh, and nobody made a claim that Akron was MAC champ yet either...that's just a sad attempt at trying to put words in my/our mouths. I think everyone knows and realizes that anything can happen at the Q.

I don't know of one post on this board that has crowned us champions of anything.They bring it up as a despirate attempt to lash back after they got their butts kicked.They call Zip fans, "the new Marshall."If they just stepped back a bit and looked objectively at their own posts, they could see how ridiculous they make themselves look. I'm not sure what they mean by that, but perhaps they are the ones who come off like Marshall fans.Now I temper these comments with the knowledge that these few do not speak for the entire Bobcat Nation. You can't paint any fan base or school with a broad brush.Nuff said...we move on. Austin Peay is next on the agenda.

Here's the thing. If we had won last night and I started a thread like the one you started, how would Zip Nation be reacting? Holy crap, I'd be strung up in town square, and rightfully so. In my eyes, you crossed the line. Golden rule, man. I would never do something like that. I'm all for smack talking, but there's at least some decorum to be observed.I did say some things about Dambrot, but it wasn't smack per se, just things that I have observed and heard. He's a good coach, but I don't think he represents himself well (TOS has had issues himself I will say in the interests of disclosure).Fans of many schools come to Bobcat Attack and are welcomed and are part of the community. Put if you come in with guns blazing, we're going to fire back. To a lot of the people there, you just came to stir up trouble.

Because there is no actual proof. However, being close to the situation, I know what went on...trust me. But as I said on BCA, you are free to believe what you want to believe and I don't blame you for defending your program.

ZN would've stood up for themselves like you guys did. However, they would've also accepted that because they started the trash-talking (as OU fans did) to expect to have it returned in a big way with a loss like that.

Well, this was my first post on BobcatAttack.com:"Hey guys, Akron fan here. It appears that the game is still on for tonight although the University did cancel any classes after 3 PM. I just got home and let me tell you, the roads are B-A-D and it's quite dangerous to be driving anywhere. I'll be there tonight, but I'm not expecting many to join me...it's that bad."That is coming in with "guns blazing"...??? That is stirring up trouble? Oh, and here was the first response:"You mean they have classes at Akron. Jesus! Yeah! I said it! Akron is stoopid! I measured myself with the heights of mankind, but I can't wrap my brain around why people even recognize Akron as a viable option for anything...Ugh!"Just defending my school that I love OZone...I went over yesterday with the intention of talking about the game with OU fans to get a different perspective. In return I got attacked and my school/team/coach got attacked...as you can see, I didn't fire the first shots.
