Opening night - August 21 Virginia Tech defeated #3 Ohio State 1-0 High Point defeated Georgetown 2-1 (Georgetown was picked to win the Big East eastern division) Rutgers defeated Providence 1-0 (Providence was picked to finish 2nd in eastern division) Florida Atlantic had a big 3-0 win over Creighton (Creighton was picked to finish 2nd in Midwest division) #1 Vermont won tonight 2-0 over Sacred Heart (game was 0-0 for first 72...goals at 72 and 84) Kentucky had a big out of conference win....2-1 over #20 Western Michigan Xavier with a strong start to the season ...3-0 win over St. Francis DePaul played to 3-3 tie with Purdue Fort Wayne Cleveland State and Santa Clara battled to a 1-1 result UConn with an impressive win 1-0 over ACC team - Syracuse St. Johns with 1-0 win over Temple Northern Kentukcy defeated Union Commonwealth 2-1 Marquette 0-0 against Bradley not on zips regular season sechedule....but exhibition opponent Detroit played to 0-0 result tonight with #12 Dayton.
