  1. That's great. I wasn't sure how many students will be at this match since it's before the semester starts. I believe it's on the first day of move-in for on-campus students.
  2. But could Amani, in theory, return to Akron since he never entered the portal?
  3. Until I see reason to be concerned, I'm not concerned about players from "IU Indy", "Idaho", and "Rhode Island". I'm still more worried about Miami, Kent, and Toledo.
  4. Checked in on last night's result for Austin FC II and saw that Stefan had two more goals last night before being subbed out at 63 minutes!
  5. College Soccer News also ranks the Zips at #12 in their preseason poll. https://www.instagram.com/p/DcCIBqwO9OC/?igsh=MWZkeTBqZTR1OXM3Zw==
  6. For the basketball arena rights, I'd put money on it being Wentz Financial.
  7. Does anyone happen to be attending the match? It may be the only way we know the result as the pre-season matches seem to be more and more secretive each year. Not just for us, but across college soccer.
  8. I just saw in an email from coach Nanchoff that after the current store closes on August 17th, a new store will open on August 19 and run through September 2. That new store will have gear featuring the A Star logo, he stated.
  9. Interesting tidbits in this article from Crain's Cleveland. https://www.crainscleveland.com/sports-recreation/ccl-akron-budgets-20260730/?utm_id=gfta-ur-260804&share-code=JLNNNSYNZNEDHABW5EKNKF23N4&user_id=3852360&customer_secondary_source=ccl_articleGifting
  10. I want to change my answer now.🥲
  11. Here's all the answers for you. 😄 Can football capitalize on the momentum it's built with the season ticket campaign? No. Can MBB 4peat the MAC? Yes. Can MSOC win the Big East and make it back to the College Cup? Yes. Can WSOC improve in year 2 with its new coach? No. Can Volleyball build upon the success they had last season? Yes. Can WBB finally make a jump and make it Cleveland? No. Can baseball stay healthy and look like the team some rumor mills have hyped up? No. Can softball repeat the success they had last year? Yes. Can lacrosse get revenge on UMass and take back control of the MAC? Yes. Can our Olympic (XC/TF/Swimming) teams continue to dominate? Yes.
  12. So, we went 17-1 in the MAC each of the past two seasons. Does this mean we now go 21-1, or will it be 20-2?
  13. Assuming the one first place vote for Creighton is from Coach Embick, because you can't vote for yourself, that means the other 11 coaches picked Akron to win the Midwest Division!
  14. confirmed by Bud that the back of the shirts say "Creating our own luck for 126 seasons". I love that.
  15. Yeah, Kaminski played the whole match, I'm 99% sure.
  16. Zips fall 1-0 to Michigan. Not much to report in the 2nd half as it was a little disjointed as usually in the 2nd half of the preseason matches. I'll leave it to you guys to look up the numbers but here's the subs from the 2nd half. At 60 minutes: 15 for 19 5 for 4 At 66 minutes: 2 for 21 At 70 minutes: 27 for 24 At 73 minutes: 8 for 11 (injury) At 80 minutes: 17 for 14
  17. Lots of changes to start the half. Here's numbers not names. 1 21...4...12...23 20...19...11 14...9...24 Michigan takes the lead in the 50th minute on a free kick that seemed to fool Kaminski in goal.
  18. My non-expert observations from the first half: It's hot. It's tied 0-0 but the Zips have had the better of it. The Zips started this way: Defenders (left to right): Bunch, Paiva, Freddy, McGuire Midfielders: Dreas (deepest), Morck, Roman Forwards (left to right): Alem, Remi, O'Rourke I saw it as a 4-3-3 but I'm no expert. Remi was dropping deep to get the ball in the center of the field until Roman was subbed out in the 27th minute. Bunch on corners from right side and free kicks until Testa came in Zips had one cleared off the line by a Michigan degenerate defender in the 8th minute. Subs in the 27th minute: Testa for Alem (went to right side) Sullivan for Roman Freddy missed one over the bar from a corner in the 43rd minute.
  19. At least we know it will be on an ESPN Network and not FloSports or something like other invitationals we've been in.
  20. The email I received earlier stated the following... Here's what the winning experience includes: - Receiving the call announcing your selection as the Offensive Coordinator of the Game. - Being officially introduced at your own "hiring" press conference. - Meeting with Head Coach Joe Moorhead to help script the opening offensive drive. - Wearing a headset and standing on the sidelines as the opening drive unfolds. - Wrapping up the day with a postgame press conference to discuss your performance.
  21. I thought about this too but then you're running the risk of alienating the real fans who may have bought tickets with hopes of winning. Ideally, you could pair a real fan with a celebrity to do it as a team.
  22. Yeah, it's kinda just putting each sport's wordmark on the same Nike items. But it's better than nothing and hopefully it expands or at least the items change each time they open the stores. With that said, I didn't have any Nike gear specific to football so I bought a long sleeve shirt yesterday and hope it arrives before the home opener. It says the items ship 4 weeks after the store closes. Also, unfortunately you can't combine shipping across stores, so if you buy from multiple sports, it's $10 shipping each time. I contacted BSN and they confirmed you can't combine shipping.
  23. You can see a picture of the new white kit in the 4th image of this post from Remi. https://www.instagram.com/p/DbmeCF1Dbze/?img_index=3&igsh=MWkxbnV5a2xjc3MzcQ==
  24. Some nice stuff but I would've liked if they would've had some stuff with the star logo also like they did a couple years back. I'll likely still get one or two things though 😆
