I just saw that Malcolm was waived by the Falcons on October 22 and has signed with the Panthers' practice squad.

I know he doesn't bring anything on offense but does anyone know how long Halligan will be out? Sometimes these early season games can be won with defense, and he brings plenty in that department.

Also, an important note for context on the standings I posted above...Xavier and UConn play each other on Saturday, so that should help Akron assuming the Zips take care of business against Villanova. And Creighton plays Georgetown (on Friday). So, Akron could be tied for the division lead by the end of Saturday.

Here's the seeding as of this morning. The two teams in bold text have played one fewer conference match due to postponements earlier this season. I did not look into tiebreakers for the order of any teams on the same number of points (other than Akron over Xavier since I knew that one 😉)

Yeah, I don't know for sure obviously, but I assume it we had won against Army and Butler, we'd be top 2 or 3 in RPI.

I think it's more to do with cost. Although, a lower production level for YouTube would minimize cost. I just know there's significant cost associated with producing a broadcast at the level required for ESPN+. That's why the non D1 games are only broadcast on GoZips.com. Less cost for the lower production quality.

Yeah, I remember parking in random spots on campus where I knew I could avoid a ticket. I didn't have season tickets at the time, so I didn't have a parking pass but didn't want to pay the $10 or whatever it was to park in the deck.

I think so. Always thought it was strange they gave me a parking pass for it considering there's no one there collecting money for it. 😅

I emailed the ticket office and they said there's a delay with the parking passes. They said if you have a Lot 2 pass, they'll be sending out an email with instructions later today. If you have a Lot 1 pass (deck), you can just park there without a pass for tomorrow.

I've seen it listed as ESPN+ on our schedule page but I don't see it listed on ESPN+. Plus, we don't broadcast non-D1 regular season games on ESPN+ so it seems strange that an exhibition would be even if it is against a D1 team. I guess we'll see.

No parking pass here yet either. I would say if you don't receive them by tomorrow, the safe bet is to park in the deck and walk. They aren't gonna ticket you in the deck.

Great analysis. I don't have the RPI math but I assume Akron would make the NCAA Tournament even with 2 losses to close the season. However, anything short of two wins would likely leave them out of the Big East tournament. However, my prediction is the Zips win the Midwest division. The Creighton-Georgetown match is in DC and as @TennZip laid out, the three-way tiebreaker favors Akron right now.

Based on two-way tiebreaker that I saw on Google AI (could be incorrect), the first tiebreaker for a two-way tie would be 1. head-to-head (we beat Xavier and drew with Creighton). 2. Record against highest teams in standings. **if** Creighton loses to Georgetown, both would have lost to the top team (Xavier did not play them) so then it goes down the standings until there's a common opponent where one team has a better record. (I haven't looked at all scenarios because the rest of the seeds are TBD)

Zips currently up to #9 in the RPI after tonight's win. We're in more danger of missing the Big East tournament than the NCAA tournament at this point. 😅

Agreed, Akron missed out on several of the worst teams in the MAC. Not that we aren't one of the worst, but we don't get to play Sac State, Ball State, or BGSU.
