Unfortunately, I see a 5-7 record again. I think the team may be better but the schedule is also more difficult. I see us beating RMU, EMU, Kent, UMASS, and Buffalo. With our track record against OU, I can't predict a win in that game although I understand the reasoning.

I think he thrives on setting expectations low so no one gets their hopes up. ๐

Does anyone know when practices begin? We're 13 days from the first exhibition match, so is it this week?
-
I didn't realize that was the pattern. I'll take it, a two possession game would be a relief ๐

It may be anonymous but we all know this was Moorhead ๐ Has the free-agency era changed the way you coach? โNot here, because we generally sign kids we havenโt beaten anyone for and this is their opportunity to play FBS football, and we donโt have any money from a rev-share standpoint. We get who we get and there's nothing we can do to retain them anyway.โ

Now let's start saying our prayers for good weather...and a decent showing against Wake.

They posted some more photos today with Enrique and Ali now there also. Didn't see them in yesterday's photos. The amount of championships in that gym is crazy!

I don't know, I think it was the BG game two seasons ago that was homecoming and had a very nice crowd. I don't remember which game was homecoming last year.

It would never happen for several reasons, but could you imagine a team with Amani, Tavari, Evan, and all the transfers we brought in? The four peat would be guaranteed.

He wants to sell out a game against Eastern Michigan? ๐

2026 ZIPS SCHEDULE WITH PRESEASON RANKINGS FOR OPPONENTS
Zips1991 replied to ZippyDoo's topic in Akron Zips Football
I hate seeing that we don't play 9th, 11th, or 12th -
My hope is it trickles down to two-ways and then as a result eventually trickles down to the Zips basketball program. ๐คฃ

Yeah but my thinking was people can order now so they can have the gear by the start of the season.

I'd love for the JAR to look like it does in that AI generated graphic ๐ -
Does anyone know what's going on with this? They said each team will have their own store 4 times per year but it's been two months and I haven't seen one from any sport. Only the initial department-wide one.

Lyles got his first start of the summer and recorded 18 points and 6 rebounds in 27 minutes. Although he did have 5 turnovers.

2025-26 Post Mortem and Looking Ahead to 2026-27

I think we could figure out a roster spot for Tavari if needed. ๐ -
Lyles with 13 points and 3 rebounds in 12 minutes today. It will always be tough for him to make the NBA roster but he could be playing his way into a G League deal.

2026 ZIPS SCHEDULE WITH PRESEASON RANKINGS FOR OPPONENTS

We could not lose to Robert Morris if we tried. -
I haven't seen any of the games yet so maybe there's a reason for it, but I see Enrique is only averaging 5 points per game through three summer league games. Not really ideal when looking to make a case for NBA time in a crucial year. Hopefully he closes out strong!

Did someone have Akron middle of the road in the MAC? I think we have to be top in preseason rankings by default based on the last 3 years. ๐คฃ -
11 points and 2 rebounds in 14 minutes!

Honestly, a $500,000 reduction doesn't seem that bad to me. I know we're already not spending as much as others. But with a budget of over $22 million, $500,000 isn't going to make a massive difference.
