Reslife4Life Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Don't really know where to put this. But chalk up a few more calendar days that Infocision will be programmed with Akron City FC making the move from SVSM 1 Quote
UAZipster0305 Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago I am curious as to why they aren't playing at FirstEnergy Stadium–Cub Cadet Field. Why would a semi-pro team want to play on artificial turf with football and lacrosse lines on it when it does not have to? Maybe the maintenance costs at FirstEnergy Stadium–Cub Cadet Field were too high? Quote

They play 6 home games in the summer so I'm assuming UA doesn't want the pitch to be used that much before the season starts. They usually do some work on the grass during the summer time as well 1 Quote

Not so much because of grass/turf, but more because Cadet Field is already setup for soccer and the lower capacity won't make it feel so empty. Even when Akron football attracts ~8k in real attendance Infocision feels very empty. This might attract a few hundred. Edited 56 minutes ago by kreed5120 Quote

Looks like their record is 1700, hit last year against a team from Cleveland. Certainly it's not exactly going to fill the place up, but it's also going to bring a few people out that haven't been to the stadium before, at no real cost to the University, so it's still a win and I'm glad they're trying things.
