Has anyone received a notice from UofA about the possibility of an alumni party anywhere in Cleveland? If so, please tell us what it says. My wife went to Miami and has received an e-mail stating that if they win on Thursday, they will have a party somewhere on Friday before the game.For those of you who want the University to do little things likes getting juiceboxes at games or photos of LBJ with an Akron hat on should take note of this if they have not planned anything. Those are little things and they need to start getting the big things right. Having a pregame get together before a big game is what big time schools do and they are very important. By the way, this should not be a free event.If the University has planned something, good job.

i never got my notice! I bought tickets through the Akron ticket office the first day. I would blame the athletics ticket office and marketing office. I want free drinks!

Thats horrible that you have to pay an extra $20 for for the pregame party, and at the practice facility. Talk about a fun place to have it! I bet it is cash bar also. Can anyone say robbed?

Have you ever bought anything at the "Q"? Have you ever ordered food in a loge? Do you have any idea what that costs? How many people should they plan for if they don't charge money? Lets say they don't charge anything and then it costs $2,000 100 people times $20. Now lets say 300 people show up? A bunch don't get food - you'd complain about that too. I don't think there is any other way you could have done this unless you just invited everyone to a bar -- and was a pay for your own stuff. Now this does not let them off the hook for not finding a sponsor to pay for this or multiple sponsors to pay for this.

And the congregation said "AMEN"! Too many people on this board complain that the University does nothing, then when something does happen they bitch that "it's cost too much" ... "it's not enough" ... "it's not done right" ...... Put yourself in the other person's shoes sometime people.

I agree too. I'm not going...I like the between game atmosphere of the all the bars arounf the Q between games to miss it Thursday...and Friday and Saturday just don't work out...but I'm glad the University is doing something like this regardless. I'm sure it will be well attended. I hope they have juice boxes for GP1.
