Day One Results at the Q

It was a rather uneventful day at the Q with a heavy Michigan flavor as all three teams won..........EMU hit about 7 threes in the first 15 minutes and held on for the win.......Bubba single handedly carried the Bobcats.....He went from 5 points to 17 in about 6 game minutes.....Central blew the big lead and hung on by 6. ......Western scrapped out the win as well. Kool was 2-10 from the field......By my count, Ball State, Central Michigan and Eastern had about 20 fans each for the game (bands and cheerleaders not included). OU's and BG's turnout was weak, at best. Buffalo had about 10 students in a section. A far cry from the 8 busloads they brought in 2 years ago......Overall, the attendance looked pretty embarrassing from my vantage point.....Western's fans were very complimentary and vocal. Was told the Zips deserved an at-large bid by several......Western has the hottest looking dance team in the MAC. Reminded me of the girls at NC State........and the officiating still sucks..........How is Ced the 6th man of the year, but not at least an honorable mention pick?

I was actually just about to start a thread for this topic. They were very nice!Also, about Buffalo. I was talking to some of their students and they said that since so many of their fans have been arrested during the tournament weekends over the past 3 years, they stopped bringing buses.

I still say if Buffalo's center Idbihi hadn't fouled out, they probably would've come back and beaten CMU. That officiating was . Seriously, it was THAT bad. I was one of the people down front screaming as Witherspoon almost lost his mind cursing at the officials.

I concur on the dance team part. And oh yeah, the girls who go to Western are VERY friendly/nice...not that I'd know or anything

I don't see why they moved these games to Cleveland. Unless they don't care about attendance. Other than some real hard core MAC people, no one is going to forfeit their entire Wednesday to watch the bottom of the MAC duke it out.

I fully understand why they did it. With all of the people cycling through there paying at least $30 a head, it makes perfect sense!

I thought the attendance was pretty good. There were alot of OU fans and a good number of BGSU fans also. I think the GA seating had people scattered instead of all sitting in the same section. Overall I would give it a B grade.

I would agree with almost everything you said. Bubba definetly picked OU up when they needed a boost, but other than those 3 threes in 2 minutes, didn;t really carry them. Ohio was lucky the two BG bigs got in early foul trouble (5 fouls between them in like 78 minutes)The attendance was announced around 5000. I don't think thats too embarrassing considering two of the games were doing a work day.As for the dance teams, Western's is hot, but I enjoyed them all I will second the officiating was horrible all day. I don't think Ive seen as many un-called travels as I did today. Maybe they got a memo after the call on linhart haha.
