Time Warner Cable also sent me a notice a few weeks ago that they are adding ESPNU to their digital line-up. They did not give a date when it would be available, though.

I dislike AT&T (former telephone monopoly) as much as I do Time Warner (current cable monopoly) and can't wait to play one against the other to see how much blood I can draw. Will be interested to see if Time Warner simply adds ESPNU to their digital tier like they did ESPN (559) and ESPN2 (560) at no extra cost or whether they add it to a sports package that is an additional cost beyond digital. Bottom line - all of us have a better chance of seeing more of our Zips without necessarily having to drive to the local pub to do so. I'm also watching to see how Time Warner and AT&T handle the Big Ten Network (two more opportunities to see the Zips this fall). Thanks for creating the thread - glad to see more competition is on the horizon. Amazing how much less expensive Time Warner service is in Doylestown and Wadsworth due to local competition there.

I believe Time Warner is adding ESPNU as part of a sports package...more $$$'s, of course. I dislike TWC as well. I had Adelphia which carried ESPNU at no extra charge. Guess that's why Adelphia went out of business...they didn't charge their customers for each and every extra.

Anyone have a dish here besides me? I love my dish, I think its a better overall picture and more channels. In my oppinion for the picture quality and amount of channels dish is a great deal. Anyone else agree with me here?
I agree. I have Dish Network and love it. I always hated Time Warner and dropped them about 6 years ago. I've seen every Zip game on ESPNU when I wasn't able to attend in person. Is the new AT&T programming satellite or cable?

had DirectTV years ago.. liked it except for "rain fade" bad weather screwed up signal reception... has that been fixed??Where I live now I don't have a line-of-site for the satellite signal....AT&T is giving 30 day free trials.... I'm trying it out... will let you know -- installing next Wed.. then promptly leaving for vacation... so won't have a good feel for it until August.

  • 1 month later...

I haven't had cable since 1992. Used to have the big 8 foot mesh dish before DirectTV, which is great.ESPNU is extra $ with the Sports Package, however, I notice the new Big Ten network is no extra charge. Neither was the NFL Network.I don't mind paying the extra $12 a month during football and basketball season for the Sports Package.

I LOVE the Direct TV sports package. There's always a college football or basketball game on during the respective seasons. And a lot of them are mid-major level, which I kinda prefer.

I agree Captain.I'd much rather see a mid-major game than, say, USC-Cal.In addition, any BCS game worth seeing is going to be on free TV anyway. :thumb:
