Is anyone else tired of seeing jaqamain stink up the field, make mistakes, and not win football games? But for some reason the coaching staff thinks he is the best think to come along since sliced bread! how bout we play the player who gives up the best chance of winning, and that is obviously Jackson.

timmy. I don't know man. This is a tough one.We were a play here, or a play there, away from blowing this game open. We didn't, and now we're looking to point fingers. Our defense is getting worn out.Our offensive production is flat at times. Our play calling can certainly be questioned. We need a big recovery at this point.

Jackson is the man. 1) He creates more options for our offense. 2) He can run and not just get scared when a play blows up like Chris does.3) Chris isn't a quarterback. He's a guy who can throw a ball. Jackson is a quarterback. He's smarter.Once Jackson goes in you'll see us start do some more trick plays or more running option plays. :screwks::champs::cheers:

I'm tired of our offensive play calling stinking up the field. I'm tired of playing offense to not lose rather than to win.I'm tired of having my heart ripped out!

This is a valid point. If CJ11 was the guy that "made less mistakes", he gave Temple a chance to get back in the game tonight. So, why not go with the guy with more talent?
As soon as Mr. Jackson can start dependably "exploding" out of bed to get to team meetings and "optioning" himself to practices, he will be back at QB. I do not blame JD one bit for benching him. He has had multiple chances and many warnings to get his head screwed on straight. I don't fault JD for sticking with a higher character kid who was tied for the 1st string QB battle coming out of camp.CJ7 has been the major disappointment on this team for me so far this year.

As much as it hurts, we have to admit that we are one of the bottom teams in D1-A football. We beat Army and Can't because they are even worse than us. We beat WMU because we got lucky (something like the basketball Miami's 3pointer last year). We keep hearing about the Mac best recruiting classes year after year. JD has great facilities and support, yet his recruits are nothing impressive (at least those who make it to play). JD himself seems to make a gameplan before the game begins but never make any adjustments after that. We always look decent in the first half and horrible in the second. I may not be knowledgeable enough to say who should be replaced and who should be fired... but it is easy to say that we are not as good as we think. We are in the bottom 10.

It's not Chris Jacq, its the OFFENSIVE SCHEME that needs to go. It sucks to watch and it doesn't work.We look like a high school out there.
It's both the scheme and Jacq. The scheme is way too conservative and Jacq, well, where do I begin? Handoffs look like he and the RB are fighting for the ball. Too slow in developing. It's like Jacq doesn't want to give the RB the ball. His looking at one receiver, and one receiver only, kills him. How many times do you see him force a ball to Jabari when someone else is wide open? Case in point was his first interception. He looked at Jabari the whole way, threw it to him even though there were 2, maybe 3 defenders on him when Piondexter was wide open 15 yards away from Jabari. He just doesn't see the field. This loss should never have happened.

All these are valid points. But I want to add special teams to this list. How long are we going to put up with bad field position out punter gives us? Serioyusly, a 15 yard punt? This was not a block! It went straight up, it came straight down. Temple started on its 50, and with a short field, got a field goal! Special teams are one third of the game. Our returns are much improved. Our place kicking is much improved. Our punting game is poor for a high school, much less a D-1 college! We have another punter on scholarship, give him a chance!

I find it alternately amusing and frustrating that none of the geniuses who posted on this thread (and just a few on the entire board) seem to give TU any credit for what happened on the field Saturday night. This is just year two of the Al Golden era at TU. Recruiting has improved (at or near the top in the MAC both years), discipline has improved, and the Owls are starting to show that they are improved, as well. We have competed in all but one game this year after competing in maybe 3 of 12 games last year.I realize that many MAC fans do not want TU in the conference but we're here and we are going to have a lot to say about who wins the MAC championship in the next few years, at least.I have always respected the MAC and look forward to the date (in the very near future) when TU will have respect from its MAC brethen.

Temple won the game. Congratulations. You made a nice run in the 4th quarter to prove that the Owls suck just a little bit less than the Zips.As for this respect from the MAC brethren .. you'll find it here much quicker than you'll find it in the conference .. the Zips have been in for over 10 years, and are still very much outsiders. We hope you find the affirmation you're looking for .. because most of us could give a rats a$$ about what the other MAC schools / fans think.

No offense to Temple, but I could've passed on the Zips Defense. There were so many open WR's and please do not get me started on the 3-3-5 scheme. Uh, hey guys if you only have 3 guys up front, makes it pretty easy to run the ball or scramble out of the pocket.Brookhart is quoted in the PD as saying: "We weren't being conservative on offense," Brookhart said. "They took away the pass and we had to take what they gave us." He F'in INSANNNNNNEEEEEEEEEE!!! :mad_flame: Brookhart is basically saying he and his staff couldnt outthink Temple's staff. He's ADMITTING he can't coach his way out of a paperbag. We had a 20-3 lead to start the 4th. We couldn't throw to the RB out of the backfield, the TE out in the flats, someone other than Jabari? Sure #81 dropped a pass, but her came back to catch a TD afterward. Don't we have 3-4 receivers? What the hell happened to Gary Pride, Johnny Long. We can throw on any one down to Jabari, Owens, Fuqua, 2 TE's, 2 RB's outta the backfield.I am not asking for our offense to be a juggernaut and put up 40 every game. Just want a team that plays to win on every down, on every play. As a fan of the Browns, Cavs and their Martyball/Wilkens coached teams, I just want to be a fan of a team that doenst for once play not to lose. Please Brookhart and staff, don't MAKE ME root for the team down south, please make me a believer of the Zips.~Thank you and goodnight.

We need to throw the ball down field...period! I am so tired of the screen passes and running 70% of the time. When we do go down field we throw to Jabari mostly, but I have no problem with that. He makes plays! Jabari had a good 3 to 4 inch height advantage on the DB this weekend and was single covered many times. I'll take my chances with that matchup any day. Owen did catch a TD, but dropped two perfect passes and one would have been a TD on an earlier drive.
