Great job Dwight!!!!DAMN!! You beat me to it. For all love Charlie gets on this board, the silence for Dwight is pretty deafening. Did you know he has 22 career NFL interceptions? He trails Vic Green by only 3INTs as the Zips all-time NFL INT leader!Dwight StatsVic Green Quote

I had no idea Smith was that close to Green in interceptions. Although, Smith plays a more interception friendly position than Green did.The Green vs. Smith debate would be a good one. Green had a Hell of a long career, which proves how good he really was. He also only played two years at Akron so he was not around long enough for people to really remember. I guess the debate should wait until Smith finishes his career. Quote
skip-zip Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 Wow...that would be an interesting debate. Actually, I didn't even know that Victor Green had that many interceptions. I was a big Vic Green fan when he was here. I think he may have been a more complete defensive football player than Smith. I know this for sure. If you go back 25 years or so, we've sure had some good defensive backs here at Akron. Bobby Lyons...Ozzie Jackson...Shawn Vincent......(feel free to add to the list...it's past 5pm and I'm brain dead) Quote
ZippyRulz Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 Sportswriters would vote for Smith over Green just because of his Super Bowl game. I don't think that's fair tho. Quote
zipboy Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 Dwight had the most domininating senior year that I remember a Zip ever having. You never see a DB litterally win 2-3 ball games for you. He was just dominant vs UCF and Can't that year Quote
Lee Adams Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 Like I already said, Williams is the fastest guy we have had here since D.Smith....Smith was the standard in that regard... Quote
