Hugo42 Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 I heard a plan that I would be down for. The plan was to round up 3,000 "founders" that would be willing to commit to $5K each. This $5K per person could be divided up into 5 or 10 years. If the person wanted to pay it in 5 years, it would be about $83/month. If they wanted to pay it out in 10 years it would be $41.50 a month. These 3K people would automatically be given season tickets for those 10 years or if they did the 5 year plan they would get Zip club membership and season tickets for those 5 years. That way, the money out of pocket would be comparable to buying season tickets each year and having a zip club membership. These 3K people pledging $5K bucks would generate $15 Million bucks. I still think that this plan will be put out to the public in the 20% phase. From what I understand- the athletic dept will try to raise 80% of the funds through the top 20% of private donors and then go to the other 80% of the donors with affordable plans like this. Quote

If you have a family of 3 or 4, forking over $15k - $20k for Zips football is a tall order. Quote
GP1 Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 I like the idea, but it will never happen. You guys living in Ohio need to think of it this way. When you look at your paystub and see your OH taxes, you have contributed to the stadium. The tax payers of OH keep MAC athletic programs floating and this stadium will be no different. Quote
Zipmeister Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 Because the portion of the construction cost not covered by private donations will be funded with an income bond, GP1 is exactly right - if you define Ohio taxpayers as anyone from any state including Ohio (and whether or not they pay Ohio income taxes) who pays to use the new stadium or view an event there.
