I can't really see if the Morrison house is gone in the cam. Could you see it before today?I'll drive past it after class and take a look.
Yes at certain times of the day I could see the Morrison house in CAM 3It looks like it's gone. But, because of the cloud cover today. I'm not really sure.

I just drove by. It's still there, fully intact. They are making more progress on the ramp located in the back yard, though.

ThanksI still can't see it and I'm sure it was visible in Cam 3 just past the visitors locker room.

pouring more concrete this a.m. --- home side lower stands...and UNT looking at a new stadium too....North Texas stadium fee to go on student ballot 09/25/2008 8:52 AMThe representatives have spoken and now it's the public's turn. In this case, the public is the student body at North Texas. When the annual elections are held there October 13-17, the students will vote on whether to level a $10 per semester credit hour fee. The money gathered would go towards the estimated $60 million tab for a new football stadium. The Student Senate vote wasn't closer: 29-5 (with one abstemption) in favor of sending the issue to the ballot. The fee would stay in place after the stadium is paid off to help fund the athletic program in the future. The Mean Green currently play at 57-year old Fouts Field. “I am excited that the student government association will take it to the student body and let them decide,” UNT athletic director Rick Villarreal said. “I can’t say how important this project is overall to the university. This takes us one step closer to where we need to be.”In addition to the funds raised by the fee, UNT would have to raise private money as well, an amount that Villarreal estimated would be around $40 million. The project would be bonded out, with payoff going over a 30-year period. The stadium would be built near the school's basketball home, the Mean Green Athletic Center. It would take roughly two years to build, meaning it would probably not be ready until the 2011 season.

UNT lost 77-20 to Rice this weekend and are 0-4 this season and none of their four losses have been remotely close games. All blowouts losses where K-State, Tulsa, LSU and Rice were able to play back-ups after building big leads. That's on the heels of 3-9 the past two seasons and 3-8 in 2005 season. Methinks UNT raising 40 million even in Texas will be a bigger task then the AD thinks.

I've been to UNT's stadium and it is a pit, but its still better than the Rubber Bowl. C'mon Infocision.

I've seen it as well and you're right it's a :john:. A least the RB didn't have seats miles away due to track between the stands and the field. The endzone seats there feel like you're in another county watching the game. It's not much better then the RB except for the fancy scoreboard brought with Bowl monies they got. Stands wise for stadium 11 years younger then the RB. It's not all that better. But, I agree it needs to be replaced. But, why UNT exist on building a 50,000 seat stadium when they haven't sold this one out even when they won 4 SBC titles in row. Their best crowd was Baylor in 2003 at 27,000 and 16,000 of those fans were Baylor fans. They need to do like UofA and start with 30,000 seats add as needed. They don't need 50,000 of which 30,000 plus will be vacant given what they're drawing these days. The HS legend they have as HC has set the program back years the way they're playing right now.

Lots of trenching and concrete being poured for the north endzone building. :-)Also, I am curious about something. They have done the top overhang on the suite/press tower. In the computer depictions there is a balcony above the club level seating. Wouldn't this balcony require some steel? If so how are they going to install that?

Not to completely take away from discussion, but does anyone else know about this new "spicer village" nieghborhood just south of the stadium? Here's the link - http://www.spicervillage.com/index.aspThe homes look great, but that isn't exactly the safest area. I understand the idea is to attract more young professionals and revitalize the area, but will this actually work?I posted this here becase if this is a success then it would definetly effect the area around the stadium.

Any renewal like that is good and lots of time that can affect a neighborhood and bring the standard up. That can't be anything but good for the stadium and University.

What you are seeing was to be the first phase of redeveloping a much larger area. With the real estate and financial markets what they are, I don't know if or when there will be a next phase.

InfoBanner.jpgHow DO the Rowdies do it? No Dix or Q security around to take this one down. Pretty cool that it faces east ... betcha you can see it from the Can't campus!
Haha, nice. I love it. Does anyone know how much of the construction they will even be able to get done before winter hits?

Re: Does anyone know how much of the construction they will even be able to get done before winter hits? The Beacon Journal carried a stadium update article last Saturday.http://www.ohio.com/news/30480444.htmlThey are trying to get as much of the exterior done before the snow flies. Also, I think once the temperature starts to go below freezing, it's not advisable to pour concrete outside. So, it's good they are getting going on pouring the concrete on the east stands this week. The lower west stands appear to be all poured. It would be great if UA updated the stadium web page once a week with a short report on what work was done the previous week and what is on tap for the next week. The stadium cams are great, but those of us obsessed with the project want more info!

If you haven't seen it yet, there is a guy who is now doing a monthly blog on the Stadium at GoZips.com. Here is the link http://www.gozips.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPS...;ATCLID=1597514By the way one of the ABJ Trolls referred the the Stadium as InfoPrison - I like it - Take No Prisoners! :)

That disappoints me and, frankly, blows my mind. I can't believe that anyone even mildly concerned about Akron's future would be anything less than thrilled with this new stadium project and the overall direction of UA. No wonder they've come to be known as Trolls.

Don't let that bother you. The ABJ blogs are full trolls and assorted nuts and bolts. That why they changed the registration policy and it has cleaned it some as you now have to sign in with your email and will be warned about posts if you violate site rules and banned if you can't follow them. Many of the trolls and warts have left since they did that. But, you still have a few around and they will not kill the thrill I get everyday when I fire up my computer and watch Info going up.

Lots of work being done today. Vertical steel has gone up for the rest of the tower (the southern half). They poured some more stands today as well.
Not to mention that the footprint of the North Endzone Building going in.
Anyone have any idea when the second deck of the home seating will go in?
