RowdyZip
Why not start this up, seeing as i'll be leaving for BW3 to "get ready" for the game in about an hour...Do the Zips make a statement vs the Bulls tonight? After the NIU game I won't take any victory for granted. I think we'll see tonight how far back Jeremiah REALLY is. Zips 79Bulls

skip-zip
I'd just like to see a game that might indicate that we are ready to play our best basketball down the stretch, and are ready for the tournament. Akron by 20+
gozips19
only up 4 at half. very sloppy game. more t.o. than assists. ced playing very well again. leading all scorers with 11. they handle the ball better in the 2nd half and step it up after k.d. reems them during the break and they'll be fine. ZipAlumn
Miami over Ohio 37-14 at the half. The way Miami plays defense that will be a pretty big deficit to overcome.

ZippyforPresident
Just got back from the JAR and thought I'd make a few comments about tonight's game:1. It felt good to be back amongst the Rowdies tonight after spending the last few games trying to introduce various friends and family members to the enigma that is Zips basketball. Sitting in the bleachers or even in the lower reserves is nothing like getting rowdy behind the baskets. The rowdies do it right. Of course it was also a little disappointing that "the other side" was kind of sparse looking.2. This game started out pretty sloppy and it seemed like it was kind of tough for the Zips to get into any type of rhythm early on. Offensively there seemed to be very little inside presence. Of course as Coach D was saying in the post game show Wood is still "shaking off the rust." Of course all in all I would say he did an excellent job seeing as how he is still recovering from an injury that caused him to miss a considerable amount of time. Also Bardo looked pretty solid on the defensive end I thought.3. Middleton. Need I say more? He's back and evidently has forgotten how to miss. No complaints here.4. Unfortunately the overall team shooting percentage was still pretty shaky in the first half. Somewhere in the low 30's i believe. It almost seemed like the mojo from the VCU game had carried over. However, in the second half some shots started falling and it got better and as the Zippers began to pull away it looked as though they were gaining more confidence in their shots and playing the way we all know they can play.5. Tonight the beer is going to taste even better after KSWho and Ohio losses and the Zips record a third consecutive 20 win season. That's something to be proud of Akron, enjoy it, this is the year of the ROO.
skip-zip
1) I'm still concerned that Wood's supporting cast in the paint still has not really developed like I had hoped.2) Living by the 3-point shot really concerns me if we intend to win a MAC title with that philosophy. bUAkronG
Here's my two cents about yesterday's game.First off, I think the score is nowhere near related to how well we played. With the exception of Cedrick, our guys seemed a bit flat, esp. in the first half.Good to see the three balls ablazing, especially from Ced. What a game for him! I know at one point he shot from waaaaaaaayyyyyy out there and I was thinking to myself "no way" as I watched him sink it. Unbelievable. It's about time. Dials ended up with a quiet 17.All in all I'm still relatively satisfied with our performance today. When one of your main contributors scores his only 3 points with about 5 minutes(or less?) to go in the second period it's good to see the other guys step up. If I remember correctly, everyone that played contributed with at least 2 points. That's a good thing, but I'd like to see everyone contribute with even more.I do have a question though. What in God's green earth happened to Jimmy Conyers? Talking about falling off the radar, and fast! He hasn't even played in the last 2 or 3 games... How do you go from starting to bench to no PT at all? I mean, I know what Dambrot's doing, but damn, that's just crazy.

Don't know if it's lingering effects of the flu he had .. or something else, but if you watch him, he isn't moving with much energy at all out there. Hope he's back soon. Another defender will help in Cleveland.
MDZip
NIU and VCU were my fault, I made the JAR too small. There is plenty of room for one more though ...

zipfan 81
He's healthy, he is in Dambrot's doghouse. He didn't play much when he was in the rotation did he? Right now when he got in he didn't do anything productive to Coach D, so Coach D is done right now with him. Remember what coach D did to Darryl Peterson? This reminds me of that.....
