zipdiehard Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 There is a small article in the Beacon today about the Mr. Ohio in boys basketball and Anthony Hitchens is mentioned without reference to the Zips. Of course they point out the 2 going to OSU and the 1 going to UC. Life as a "mid major"! Quote
Blue & Gold Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 The title of your post is exactly right. It's the myriad of little slights that are like a thousand paper cuts. Or being "hen-pecked" to death. We need people on the BJ's sports staff that are excited about Akron athletics. If that were the case then it would be a natural inclination to point out to the uneducated masses that Anthony Humpty Hitchens is a future Zip. Quote

gozips19 Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 just a question here. since this is an AP release not a ABJ release, can the ABJ change the article? Quote

gozips19 Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 wouldn't they need permission from the AP to change it then? i agree that the U should be in the article but am unsure of complete protocol. Quote
ziptrumpet87 Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 change the source as "staff and wire reports"... I've seen that before Quote
Blue & Gold Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 Yeah, they can change it. I've noticed in the Canton Repository that they'll run AP articles on, say the Cavs or on Michigan State and when the AP article on the Cavs may mention Eric Snow they always add to the article the fact that he played at McKinley, and likewise, if the AP article on Michigan State happens to mention Raymar Morgan, they always add to the article the fact that Raymar played at McKinley. See, they have a passion for who they are. Quote
