  1. God told her not to play for Akron. Got it.
  2. Save yourself some brain cells and block Dre. He's only here to disrupt from a recliner in his mom's basement
  3. I'm for whatever Groce and company think is best for the team.
  4. Another way of looking at it: this is a one bid conference with 4 or 5 quality programs. How does Groce stop Toledo from becoming the next Buffalo who runs over the Zips for 3 or 4 years. Looks like Kent's team is mostly seniors...tonight is their moment. Toledo only loses Milner and Shumate.
  5. Very hard to get a good read on Tavari. I would like him to stay. Like others have said, LCJ and X took a season to get going but Tavari doesn't seem engaged in the team. As for Clarke: Akron has one guard who can't shoot or make a lay up: Tribble. Do the Zips need two?
  6. I will take great pleasure in hearing that either Kent or Toledo lost tonight. Whitesell had no control over his team this year and was especially evident in the Q Final game. That Hardnett guy is a poor man's Emoni Bates. He was chewing out his teammate heading into the locker room at halftime and many times Whitesell was trying to calm him down. The same 4 made the semis as last year, and they are the traditional powers in the MAC (minus buffalo, ironically).
  7. Save yourself some brain cells and block him.
  8. I added to my comment. Agree. And they aren't getting respect.
  9. Toledo and Kent played tough schedules...but Toledos win streak is a mirage. So many of those wins are against directionals. Kent had some late bad late season losses. That being said, one reason I'm not too stressed is that the Zips weren't at large worthy. Toledo and Kent may be but they won't get it. I think Kent has the higher kenpom rating. They aren't even talked about and Toledo is marked for a 13th seed. Got to be 9 or 10 level.
  10. Trust me...i will criticize as warranted. but, he's certainly had some real duds from the transfer portal. nice personality players aren't always going to make it unfortunately. but I think this is topic for Clark's next thread. No whining here. No entitlement.
  11. it's tough in the MAC. Same final 4 as last year. I would disagree that Groce was out-coached by Senderoff. Senderoff had the guys this year. The problem he has now is that Toledo also has the missing pieces that Akron needed this year.
  12. My guess if the feds pursue this, the State prosecutors will leave him alone. There's nothing to gain by going after him twice for essentially the same crime.
  13. why don't you give it a rest until say...tomorrow.
  14. Of all the MAC tournament losses over the years, this one probably hurt the least. Same final four as last year. I guess we will now wait and see what players have a conversation with God and ask us to respect their decision.
  15. Tough to repeat. I will take joy in that either PCCC or Toledo will be bawling their eyes out tomorrow night. Don't see either of them sitting on any bubbles. they are the best two teams this year.
  16. Amen. Even if you are a decent donor you get relegated to cheap seats...but they have a system they have to use which in a way is fair. The ticket offerings were limited on seat geek this year. but i noticed yesterday you can sort of sit wherever you want.
  17. Brian Walsh makes one shot in 2012 where would Groce be today? That's every game.
  18. Coach Groce has met expectations with the team he has. If he and this team can win two more, it wouldn't be a miracle but would certainly be surprising considering the talent they will be up against. Clarke and Tribble need to get to the line or make a few buckets.
  19. Words you will never here the Brimfield Tech coach utter: "Obviously I thought we did a lot of good things tonight," Zips coach John Groce told reporters in Cleveland. "I thought it was a reflection of our preparation. These guys are just such a special group. We took two days off after Friday's game [against Kent State] and they came back and you could just look in their eyes and tell their care factor was high."
  20. You just know that's how it's going to turn out.
  21. What an awful afternoon of basketball.
  22. A 20 win legend. When he left, the program was stagnant. Wasn't going to get better. Hopefully, this thread will down and move down the que and not be resurrected many more times.
