  1. Owned the Zips except in MAC tournament. But, yeah, I, like everyone else, am tired of losing to them at the JAR>
  2. When we get in late February, I will post the MAC tournament simulator. you can play out all the remaining MAC games to see how the teams will be seeded in different scenarios.
  3. None of this will be possible unless Groce finds a "serviceable Big" before March.
  4. Don't bother feeding the troll. He's only here to agitate
  5. Amazing how a 2 point away game loss can set off such despair and rancor. We make Bobcat Attack look positively rational.
  6. JMU should be undefeated in the Sun Belt. Zips should be undefeated in the MAC. Game is irrelevant now 🙄
  7. And 2019 Buffalo shouldn't have lost at NIU or BG. Seriously, no team in 70 years or whatever has gone undefeated in MAC play, and I'm sure there have been a few other down years. Not this team nor any MAC team is getting an at large big or an NIT bid for that matter. The season for the high level MAC teams is about balancing: preparing for March and racking up wins to keep the administration, students, and fan base engaged with the team and the product on the floor. The MAC tournament is the post-season. A tournament win in Cleveland is never guaranteed. In 2020, Akron faced an Ohio U team with Preston and Van Der Platz. Was that first round a sure thing win? No. Win in Cleveland. Celebrate, and hope for a decent draw for March Madness. That's how this works. And I'm sure that Groce is as angry and disappointed as you are, but a team has to lose eventually. Loss by 2 on the road against a good coach. Suck it up. Move on. Don't take the loss personally.
  8. Reading the article in the ABJ today, there will be lots of family there, including, if i read correctly, Coach Groce's dad who is battling cancer. Would be an excellent moment for the Zips to give their coach a less-stress game.
  9. I went to the game last evening. There was a good, but not overly enthusiastic crowd. The concessions had more options and were less expensive than Akron. I think the JAR has a better set up for game day.
  10. I know. Maybe with a shooting guard they would he undefeated in league play.
  11. Brilliant.
  12. Looked like a good crowd last night. Everyone had fun. When team is winning, more people show up.
  13. It wasn't the last shot but: McNeese State being down 1 and missing both FTs. then the Corpus Christi guy making one of two to give them a 2 point lead and THEN the Corpus Christi guy, thinking they were up by 3, deliberately fouling McNeese guy and sending him to line for 2. The good FT shooter for McNeese makes one, misses the next, scramble for rebound and McNeese gets a hoop.
  14. If anyone wants to watch an effed up ending to a basketball game, turn on espn+ and watch the last few minutes of McNeese State @ Texas AM Corpus Christi. I thought I had seen everything.
  15. this is the game many on here wanted. isn't this where Humpty Hitchens ended up
  16. JMU is no joke, but the MAC is.
  17. And she did all that in stilettos!!
  18. Admittedly, I suffer from O.U.D.S. Ohio U Derangement Syndrome.
  19. Thanks. Now do the Southland Conference.
  20. Disagree with this. No one is saying that Kent didn't step up and make some great shots, etc. They were cold and then got hot. The technical against Tavari changed the direction of the game and was unecessary. No lead is safe these days, and I, as well as everyone else, expected Kent to make a run.
  21. I don't have the Kent Derangement Syndrome that @Let'sGoZips94 does 😀. But, wow Brimfield Tech's Freeman is such a typical Mr. Pinky player. It's like Jim Christian went to central casting and found him and brought him home.
  22. It's a beautiful day in the Rubber City. Mighty Pinky has struck out.
  23. Beyond stressful. Only had to watch the Bradley/SIU game the other night to know that no lead is safe. Zips have had slow first half and kill in 2nd. I thought it may be harder for them to hold on to a big lead as opposed to pulling away from a close game. nice long weekend for them. I for one dislike OU more than Kent even though @clarkwgriswold refers to Boals as "our friend."
  24. We've seen a couple of good/re-surgent MAC programs come into the JAR in BG and WMU. Both games played out the same. These games remind me of those early round NCAA games where the 15 seed keeps it close with the 2 seed for about 25 minutes of playing time only for #2 to get some big plays and pull away. The line of the game -14.5 was probably about right and didn't take into account the flu and a broken hand. Seems like when one of those guys makes a big play the others get going. We've seen a few Zips teams in the past miss the chances to put teams away. These guys made a few transition 3s that are daggers. I liked having Liles in. And Tavari, whom I'm never sure about, steps up when he's called upon. From my perspective, which is often wrong, Groce seems to be managing the game to keep Freeman out of foul trouble. As for Friday, Clark we are waiting...no expectations. These guys aren't feeling well and Coach Groce's dad is in bad shape. Kent is also struggling with issues. Fortunately, the Zips don't have to travel far this weekend and can be healthier for when Clark's friend Jeff Boals and the Kittens crawl into town Tuesday.
  25. Refs helped close that gap.
