infofan
Sources ( Dave Carducci) have confirmed that former d-coordinator Jim Fleming has been hired by Doug Martin to coach linebackers at Can't. Good for him- he was a good hardworking guy who Im glad is getting a fresh start. I just hope Will stays!!!
Quickzips
I think the bigger question is will Can't start to run the 3-3-5? If they do, that ridiculous scheme combined with Doug Martin's general coaching ineptitude means they might never win a game.

Can't you just relish the thought?
johnnyzip84
As far as keeping or losing Will, I look at it this way. If Jim had landed a long way from here, one might think Will would naturally follow particularly if it was at an FCS school where he could transfer and play immediately. With his Dad still in the area, this might actually improve Will's chances of staying. If he indeed chooses to remain a Zip, it will be fun to think that we can partially thank K.E.N.T. because of it.
Captain Kangaroo
If Will Fleming did transfer to K.e.n.t. I think it would be HUGE for the F.l.a.s.h.e.s. They'd actually have a player that could tell them what the Wagon Wheel looked like, felt like, etc.
Dr Z
It will be interesting to see if they run the 3-3-5. I suspect they won't.The biggest kick in the teeth to me would be that they run the 3-3-5 and do it successfully. What a change in facilities for Flemming!?!?! Dad probably doesn't even have to move, meaning he can still see him anytime.
johnnyzip84
I'm not disputing this story, but I wonder why it's taking K.E.N.T. so long to make an official announcement? So far there is no word of this on their sports site.
johnnyzip84
The official announcement was made yesterday. I didn't realize that Fleming and Martin had coached together at ECU.Link
Dr Z
The official announcement was made yesterday.Link Martin about Flemming-“Having been in the MAC East for the last six years, he knows the teams we’re going to play..." Yep, that about sums it up. Reminds me of the episode when Homer thought he was going to die during the night because he ate a poisonous blow fish. He went around to his family before bed and said nice things to them. He goes to tuck Bart into bed, thinks for a bit, and says "Bart...I like your sheets"
