  1. Just an update for you guys that are interested: I hit up Dillard's post-holiday sales and picked up some shirts that were on clearance to be embroidered. They called today to tell me they were finished. I thought I would let you see how they turned out. The price has been raised to $10 per design up from $7. Still quite affordable. I thought they turned out great. I need a XXXLT shirt because I am 6'3" with a 30" inseam. All torso and no legs, so it is very difficult for me to find anything in the bookstore that fits. This is the perfect service for me. If you are interested, here is the information you need:

  2. I feel for you. And I like your attitude, being a loyal Zips fan while living down there. Kudos to you. On the other hand, half of my family has moved to that area over the last couple of decades, after living in NE Ohio. And ALL of them are AKRON GRADS.......but today, they are all Buckeye Honks, who vehemently defend all of the corruption, cheating, legal troubles, etc. It's sad.

  3. What people seen to not understand is that team timeouts are loosely scripted during the game. Sometimes it is PA announcements or the band or the dance team etc. When it seem like the band is coming in right at the whistle, it is because they got the green light to play from whoever controls the game. It also depends on what kind of timeout it is, whether it is "hot" or "cold" sometimes has an impact on what happens during the games. Even though they are loosely scripted they DO change according to the situation. If they were going to blast Zombie Nation, they would have told the band not to play well before the timeout happened. In regard to ends of songs, the band is TOLD to play until the refs whistle out of the dead ball. If all of you people want the crowd to be more effective it cant turn into a blame game. When a chant starts get off your butt and chant even if you are not a student. When the Band plays the fight song or another cheer, actually clap and cheer. Cheer with the cheerleaders and dance team. It isn't rocket science encourage others to stand up around you and eventually people will come around. That is how you build tradition. We all root for the same team. We need to work together instead of blame other groups.

  4. Done. I'd like to see what they do with this info. I guess we will see if being brutally honest makes a difference.

  5. I would love to see 2 ranked MAC teams (especially if one was UA) and the rest of the conference be crappy. None of the MAC schools are even close to being ranked.

  7. Down side - how much better could the conference be? Sitting at 10 with an out of conference strength of schedule of 31 (with only 32 conferences plus independent NJIT). When people complain about out of conference scheduling (across the league) there is something to point at.

  8. From GT's column, a quote by Pat Forsythe: “You can see it out there, the chemistry and how everyone is excited for everyone else. You never see anyone down about anything; it’s just a good vibe out there.” It is refreshing, not having the perpetual pouting from some former players who shall remain nameless. The team chemistry does seem to be much better than it's been for a few years.
