First time replying to a Zips Nation post. Myself and several players from 2007-2010 will be attending the Pitt game if that helps at all. Probably 60 in total. -Dan Marcoux
Pitt is also the game with a higher chance of getting smoked again. We could very well beat them again, but my money is on OU being a safer game to take a big group again if you're worried about getting trounced.
well for one (maybe it's just a formality), Tra'von isn't pencilled in as the starter. Two- we would need actual running back talent. Dr.Z may or may not know more than I do on the situation, but I'm a little skeptical of it. I'd picture more of an Auburn-type of spread as has been mentioned on here previously.
This comes down to a point I've tried to make several times: "give a damn!" We need people who 'give a damn' at UA. People who go above and beyond. People whom aren't just going through the motions. I know it's easier said than done, but c'mon akron!
Pitt will have a chance to have a better atmosphere and weather. I know it's always a hard sell getting friends to games, since we beat the Panthers last year, it may be a little easier for you. Good for you for trying again. Take some photos of your group and come back to this thread and post them, I think a lot of members would enjoy.
Wow! Reading that 2012 story, the question becomes: why did they wait so long to shut it down? I was a huge fan of Proenza but now I am starting to question his financial responsibility.
And the athletics events are serving the students? You've got to be kidding me...the events at EJ Thomas are MUCH closer to coming out even than Athletics ever will, AND they events at EJ Thomas bring more people to your campus than almost all the athletics events combined.
I disagree completely with you. As a current student, EJ has been THE defining building for my experience as a student. The Ziptix program that gave free tickets to students has afforded me many opportunities to attend a variety of programs that I would have never been able to attend otherwise.
Finally a good move. EJ Thomas was a massive waste of a building as far as serving the students went. The events held there had nothing to do with the university. It's like if UA was running Blossom.
