  1. What utter nonsense. Woodson deserved to be #3 after a lackluster performance last year and showing up fir spring ball 30 lbs overweight. It had little to do with whether TB liked him or not. Tommy's athleticism was never in question, his decision-making was in question. If the last 2 games were any indications, it appears that Tommy has worked hard to be where he needs to be to start as QB.Lee, how many 1A QB's have you recruited? Any idea how hard it is to get Hugh quality QB to come to Akron where the line has been lackluster, the record poor, and fan attendance pitiful? Tommy was a great get from a top notch program in the WPIAL. Chapman was a very good get and may also prove to be valuable as he matures. It is so ridiculous to listen to someone who knows NOTHING about the recruiting process berate a top notch coach.

  2. Yep, we missed connections on plenty of short stuff too. I hear you about the lost yards running plays. That trick reverse play that lost a ton of yards when we were driving for the first TD (and had to settle for a field goal) ended up being awfully costly.

  5. You'll have to forgive me as I'm not very good at smack talk. But when I consider the Bubba4three handle and look back on the two seasons that Bubba was at OU after leaving the Zips, this is what I remember: The Zips' record against the Kitties in those two seasons was 3-1. The Zips' overall record was 50-18 vs. 39-26 for the Kitties. So the Bubba4three handle just reminds me that the Zips didn't miss Bubba, and Bubba didn't help the Kitties produce anything to brag about. In other words every time I see a Bubba4three post on ZipsNation it brings back good memories. So thanks for hanging around.

  6. I see the key as the opposite. If Woodson can't throw, forget the running game. We're screwed. OU will stack the line and stuff it. Like last week, the pass opens up the run. I love that our WR's now look motivated to run their routes. That hasn't been the case for a couple years. LZip wrote that he was "giddy" after last weeks win. That would have been my adjective, but get it. I told my wife, after last week's win, "That's the happiest I've been after a Zips game in a long time." To see such a complete performance on both sides of the ball, against a solid opponent, on the road, with some young guys like Lane and Woodson emerging, and Hundley flattening people...it was just something a Zips fan hasn't seen in a while. I'd love to feel that way again tomorrow. We'll see how it goes.
