That is very true . Miami was so tough for a long spell.. And even when they didn't have the greatest talent, they had tough kids like the Pollitz brothers that could frustrate the Hell out of a team. You had to keep the foot on the peddle for all 40 to take them out. I miss Charlie.
So you want Akron to get an at-large by merit of a win/loss that's inflated by playing easy opponents? I think we need tough competition during the MAC season if we're going to have any chance of winning an NCAA tourney game.
Well, I know that Coach Bowden and company are not overly outgoing with information regarding recruiting and don't believe in or cater at all to the recruiting sites. So I'm not to concerned from that standpoint I'm not a whiz with Twitter searches but have not really been able to find too much traffic regarding offers, commits and visits to Akron I do know and feel comfortable that these Coaches have been doing this for a long time and are working to put together a good class ..... I think we will see things pull together come signing day ........
I know that the News Collector has this since it is on gozips.com, but when I read through it, I just had to post the following from it (http://gozips.com/sports/track/2015-16/releases/20160106f7k8wq): SHAWN BARBER – CANADA/UNIVERSITY OF AKRON (FORMERLY) • 2015 IAAF World Outdoor Pole Vault Champion • 2015 Pan American Games Champion • 2015 NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Pole Vault Champion • Holds No. 2 World Ranking in Pole Vault • 2014 NCAA Indoor Pole Vault Champion • 2012 World Junior Championships Bronze Medalist • Canadian Pole Vault Record Holder Career-Best Marks Outdoor – 5.93 (19-5 1/2) [7/25/15] Indoor – 5.92 (19-5) [9/2/15]
