Some odds and ends. o WARF - Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation. I worked there four years back in the 1970's. (Actually the WARF institute, but we just called it WARF) One of their products is Warfarin - the blood thinner and rat poison. I see it's also a local Akron radio station. o Say something nice about Akron or the Zips That's a tradition of Buckyville. Some comments are straight and some a little off center. o IMO, the AP with Wisconsin at #10 is too high. The coaches' poll has the Badgers at 16, which seems about right to me. o Terry Bowden was always a favorite of mine. Couldn't say why, but I always liked him on TV. Thought he got a raw deal from Auburn. I think he's doing a good job for Akron. o The Wisconsin band will play your school fight song twice. Once at the Union South pre-game concert and once at the stadium before the game. o Badger YouTube preview: Happy trails to those of you making the trip.

We have heard back from your athletics department, and due to other athletics events and an away football match, we're told they don't have the resources... to, you know, have someone stand there and pan a camera back and forth. I guess I was naive to think that Akron's athletics department would lift a finger for us and that there might be some warm feelings toward UCSB fans after our support of Akron in 2010 in Santa Barbara. As a huge fan of UCSB soccer (with an affection for Akron), it's just so incredibly frustrating and disappointing to know that the infrastructure exists to watch my team but that the minimal effort to make it happen won't be mustered. I know they could do it, but they've simply chosen not to do so. Grrrr.... You risk making the soccer gods very unhappy.

Video streaming is not the University of Akron's forte.

So if we get our 300/100 we are better than LSU? How did I get sucked into this? The only thing we can say that the team with the most points on the board when time runs out tomorrow is the winner. LV, you better consider that the team that shows up for game 2 can be a lot different than what showed up for game1.

So the Zips do have a chance.

I guess I need to be better informed. I didn't realize you had played The Tide this year. I know you are looking for a blow out, but you better hope your team comes to play.

This one will be closer that a lot of people think. Bowden would be well advised to be amiable with the officials from pregame on and plant the seed to 'keep it fair' 'watch their holding' etc...every time he gets near one of them (channel Hank Stram). Too much of a conflict having Big Ten officials handling the calls for a MAC team at these big money Big Ten venues. Wisconsin 2003 and Michigan 2013 were ours, but were stolen away with bad calls.

Hopefully the game is as entertaining as this thread has been.

Which ironically was Chryst's senior year.

This is a guy I was really hoping was going to join the rest of the local kids in this class. He may be the best pure football player in Summit County.
