I get your point. However, it doesn't matter how many new faces there are if many are walkons. Occasionally a walkon will be a player but the odds aren't good. You are correct. We signed 13 and "only 2" are missing. 2 of 13 is a crappy percentage imho. Other new faces are transfers from last year that counted on last years total. Every year we count guys as new that were part of a previous class. They somehow get counted in multiple classes because they didn't make it the previous year or they were RS or GS or whatever. I understand your saying take it withe a grain of salt, as I know things will change between now and opening day. I wish one thing that would change is the UA SID. information on this team is nearly impossible to find.
1.3 million reportedly celebrated the Cavs championship in person. I can see 1.3 billion coming to celebrate the Browns winning the Super Bowl. They have Browns Backer chapters all over the world, Skip. Jeez.
As has also been discussed a million times, a lot of money was going to be spent either on a new stadium or rubber bowl renos.. and a stadium was the more prudent move. It wasn't an arena vs. stadium issue
No one here gives a crap about Ohio State's team, attendance, television ratings, ranking, recruiting...whatever. So if everyone would keep their comments and observations related to the Zips it would be greatly appreciated.
The Moderators
There are a lot more than 13 new faces. Only 2 members from the signing class have not shown up - Bentley and Jacobs, one of which is apparently greyshirting and one who only had 1 FBS offer. As I said, take everything on there with a grain of salt.
Obviously you have to take these things with a grain of salt but some things that stuck out:
I don't see either of our late 2017 commits in Dre Williams or Dylan Meeks.
Still no Brian Bell. Still no Jamal Davis.
The Wilmington WR is gone.
Two of our "touted" freshman DEs are there. No surprise with Sampson, but Hanson is a pleasant surprise as I think I read him qualifying was up in the air.
No Marquise Bridges or Marquess Callaway. I also don't see Zaire Jacobs (the S from St. Thomas Aquinas).
I was in attendance for the NDSU game and I can only make it to Akron on weekends when I do not have to work. That game must have been on a Saturday. I can tell you, though, that arena was pretty crowded. I remember literally rubbing elbows with my neighbors next to me for that one.
Very proud of our team in sending some members over to Kent in support of their grieving team. That's total class and I'm proud of these Zips. This gets me more excited for Zip football than any cheap promotion our almost non-existent marketing dept can think of.
