I read the piece and thought "ummmmm, so what does this offer that we didn't already know?" The stadium is bigger than they need. Check. Arth cost UA money. Check. The football team has sucked. Check. Thanks for all that insight Captain Obvious. What's next, and expose on the end of the Kostelac era at UA?

Dyer is a lightweight 'journalist'(I apply that term laughingly to him). While it is correct that there are and have been real problems with finances at the AD and the University in general. Its old news. Dyer is only good at piling on. He has done hard hitting stories like the speed limit on I-77(lol). Its usually fluff. But thats what people who read him want. One way to shut these kind of people up!

Link to press conference I still like Arth and think he'll do well. I still vividly remember iCoach. Though we may not win a game this season, Arth is no iCoach and this team is playing harder and competing better than the iCoach-led teams. I like Arth's demeanor and obvious intelligence. His staff is composed of some sincerely good people who honestly care about the young men (I still think Marcus Wattley would have been a natural fit on this staff). I could see this staff easily and naturally attracting the sort of athletes/young men required to be be successful at an Ivy League institution, but we'll see whether they have what it takes to succeed at this level.

However, he's a nasty curmudgeon who only looks for the negative when it comes to U of A. He did a vicious hit piece on Groce a few years ago which will prove to be wrong. I got into an email back and forth with him, and he's arrogant and hateful. I've been happy with the ABJs recent coverage of UA, but I knew this was coming. I don't know why he has to continue to rip on the stadium. Nothing can be done about it now.

The Zips head off to Louisville this Sunday to face the #2 Cardinals. Louisville has recovered from Rick Pitino carousing with floozies on restaurant tables and assistants providing strippers for recruits. The Cardinals are projected to finish third in the ACC, behind Duke and North Carolina, and were ranked 5th in the AP preseason poll. Junior forward Jordan Nwora was the 2019 ACC Most Improved Player and was named ACC Preseason Player of the Year. Louisville returns six of their seven leading scorers from last year. Interestingly, they have had 3 common opponents with the Zips in the young season, beating YSU 78-55, NCC 87-58 and SCU 76-50.
