I am the same age as your Dad! I went to games when I was a student, but after graduation I attended very few. You dad re-kindled my interest in the program and my wife and I have bought season tickets for several years. We really enjoyed your Dad's years as coach. Some of those Kent, Ohio and Miami games were unbelievable. I wish him all the best. I know he'll always be a Zip to the core of his soul!

I admire you for sticking up for your dad. You should. He gave a hell of a lot to us and I am very grateful for that. The internet is full of cowards and our site is no different. Ignore them, your dad brought UA basketball back from the absolute abyss. Most of the joy I've had with Akron basketball is because your dad was at the helm. He didn't know me but every time I traveled somewhere to see the team play he always stopped to say hello. Good man I wish him success, not like UA and Duquesne can't both have success at the same time. (Oh and thanks for your contributions to Akron soccer also a team which has given me much joy).

It's funny, the people who smile in my dad's face are the same ones who pray for his failures behind their computer screens. Three seasons later, Akron is 14-3 and 4-0 in the MAC, and yet many of you would rather belittle KD's past and present success than enjoy Akron's return to the top of the MAC. Some things I'll never understand...

The excitement on campus has been, rightfully so, for Men's basketball, and there's a HUGE one on Saturday against Toledo at 2, followed by the Women at 4:30 in a doubleheader. If you've got nothing better to do earlier except maybe grab a lunch to avoid the high cost of concessions at the JAR, think about making it a triple-header and stop at Ocacek, less than 50 yards from the front door of the JAR and watch the final home meet of the season for our 6 time MAC Swimming and Diving Champions, on their Senior Day. 11:30 for Senior Day activities and noon for the meet, then when you get bored and can't take the humidity and the smell of chlorine, you can go cheer on the Big Guys. Should be a good one against Eastern Michigan, probalby the #2 team in the MAC. Since it's a dual meet it'll go fast. Last time to catch Jessica Bonezzi, Ellie Nebraska (if she's healthy), Jackie Pash, Mackenzie Vargas, Morgan Waggoner swim and Katie Applin dive.
