  2. Lots of praise for Luke Getsy after last night's MNF performance.

  3. Why can't we run a QB sneak (from under center)? Would love to see DJ line up in the shotgun. Then go up to the line of scrimmage (like he is going to change to play) and go under center and on a silent count take the ball. Should be able to easily convert any 4th and 1. Any thoughts why he's not under center on 4th and inches?

  4. Zips out of the top 25 and into the receiving votes section of the coaches poll: https://unitedsoccercoaches.org/rankings/college-rankings/ncaa-di-men/ Seems harsh for drawing 0-0 in brutal conditions in their only match since the previous poll.

  5. I'd say most teams still run the QB sneak under center. The Browns run it 2-3 times per game. It's just a growing trend of more and more teams deciding not to do it. It wouldn't seem that hard for a QB and C to stay after practice and spend 10-15 minutes snapping the ball under center that way it's not foreign to do in game situations

  7. One thing I wanted to point out was how well Kent presented a game day atmosphere. I know a lot on here want to just say all that matters is the game but in today's world with all the tv time outs and bringing in casual fans I really think it does matter. They constantly had something going on. They tried to really up the entertainment for the dollar. Now they had their issues. They had the volume levels too loud. They were clipping on their amps. You could hear the sound lose the low end and then the quality of the highs suffer. If your not a sound tech you probably don't notice those things other than it seemed overly loud at times. Some of the music was annoying for my taste but I get it. I was just impressed with how they presented the game.... especially for it being Cant. Akron has never been good at putting on or managing events of any kind. The details never seem to get worked out. We have also tried some of the fill during the game, but we never did a good job at it. I think we also never had the right guy as the "hype man". We talk about about what it takes to fix attendance. That list is long. It starts with winning. That will happen under Coach Joe. We need to start working on the rest of that list. We need people, when we do get them out, to have a good time win or lose. To enjoy the experience as a whole.

  8. It's year 1 and I feel Joe is creating a fun offense that 18-23 year old skill players will want to play in. Irons is #12 in the nation in passing yards. We have 3 receivers in the top 100 in receiving yards (#20 Shocky, #86 George, and #87 Adams). Obviously we're not going to go out and land 4* and 5* freshmen, but I feel very much we can become a preferred destination for skilled players who have talent, but got buried on the depth chart at P5 schools and just want an opportunity to showcase their talent.
