YES, Panini's will have ESPNU and be televising the game!

Friday night is BRACKET BUSTER WEEKEND. For those of you that do not know what that is; it consists of the top mid-major men’s basketball teams across the country. They play against each other in a battle for the few remaining at-large births for the NCAA tournament. Akron is playing at Nevada at 9:00 p.m. on Friday on ESPNU. I would like to formally invite all of you to come downtown to Panini’s on Main Street where we will have drink specials, food specials and free appetizers for those of you that arrive early. The party will start at 8:45 and run all night long. We will also be giving out a couple of iPod Nanos and some other prizes for those in attendance. We will be periodically announcing the winners so you must be there to win!Another one of these could be in our future! :macc:

Are you sure? I talked with dials earlier tonight and he isn't running at all! He is walking a lot though; about 3 miles every day or so. Are you sure you got that right? running... walking... it's all the same right? No way. Come on zips fans, keep it real here. He WILL be back this year. Let's just not try to push the kid back too early, ok? November is still a possibility, but in all likelihood he will be ready full time in a starter’s role sometime after. and just in case you were not sure.....

Akron is one of the last teams left out of the big dance according to the "experts". They are also ahead of this fairly impressive list... Georgia Tech UAB Utah State Temple South Carolina UTEP Dayton Vanderbilt Air Force Missouri Massachusetts Mississippi State Southern Illinois Houston Hofstra St. Mary's Northeastern OHIO is the only team in for the MAC, getting the automatic bid. Note to all: Mississippi State is in the San Juan Shootout with us in December. Wouldn't it be nice to beat a high calibur team in the semi finals and then beat Clemson in the final to win it? What a nice "Vacation" that would be! Cumblowus can keep their band and even keep their teams, but let's see a full house for every home game this season and show the MAC and the rest of the nation that the fans of Akron are the best damn fans in the land! Go Zips! I almost forgot.....

i agree on 6. 44 had many small issues that were distractions and would prohibit his football growth. All in all, he was one of the better zips players in recent years. oh yeah....

nope... you're right on with those games being winnable, especially once our telant gels together in some game situations. I look for this year to be a rough start. 1. because our first few games could be tough with a new offensive leader at the helm. 2. only the team really knows how they will be doing because there is a lot of unknowns out of zips camp this fall. it could be a great year, it could turn into a 'rebuilding' year... who knows right now? barring any injuries, i think will will end of 6-5 (4-4). This, to me would be a successful season and would be a good building block to compete at the top of the MAC the following year, in 2006 with lots of potential. oh yeah....

the football game been officially announced to being moved to turkey day! 1350 is still currently the home station for zips broadcasts. MAC office is horrible with schedules being released, who knows when that will get released. I hear Wood is in good spirits and playing hard, quade and cedrick has been amazing in practices although i am not sure how much weight quade has really put on. i do know of some feshman being on campus but i am not sure who alot of them are with trying to put names with faces. although rumor has it that carlton jackson is going to try and be a walk-on basketball player. i have not head anything about balaam being out, so i would assume in or the issue has just been moved past. the QB thing is tough. Getsy is the man, with right now Jabari #2, but i assume that will change come fall ball. commits for '06?!? wow, who knows at ths point... GoZips.com

all i am saying is that if your sources are reliable and true, then you have nothing to worry about. maybe you were a little tipsy and heard it wrong. that's all!
-
you might want to check your source again on that one and find out what really happened.
-
very true! good tip!

has anyone thought that he may be doing this to get quicker feet, maybe work on his hands and coordination.... there are so many good football drills that can improve your athleticism that do not require full contact. besdies, a football is harder to hold on to than a basketball because of its size and shape. has it occurred to any of you that he is doing this to better himself for basketball and that keith and the enire basketball staff knows exactly what romeo is doing, maybe even had it setup for him? let's not make this something that it is not! go zips...... war the roo
